Okay, i have a question guys, my friend is looking into getting a GTi-R motor for his car. The only thing that there is contemplating over is this one issue: Can a GTi-R use regular SR20DET parts? What can and cannot be used on the GTi-R? I know that the parts for RWD wont work but what else is tehre that can/cannot work on this motor?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have experience with this motor what are your thoughts and experiences with it?

Thanks

Most of the parts from a sr20det will not work in a GTiR.

Head:Valvecover is differentthe valves are differentthe cams are differentValve guides different

Block:The block is differentThe pistons are different (8.3:1)The crank is differentI believe the rods are different

External accesories:The engine mount/ mounting location is aluminum, not steelThe intake manifold uses individual throttle bodiesThe oil cooler will only mount on the GTiR block (uses a 4 bolt flangeThe throttle position sensor rotates the opposite way as other sr20's

There is a lot more, but this is the major stuff
