is this thing really worth it? i just don't see how it reads all of these things through the cigarette lighter. i think i'm gonna get one off of ebay for 80 bucks or so.

i asked this on the sro boards awhile ago. everyone who had it said it was pretty legit. I was actually going to buy one then i got into an accident , so i lost the funds. It uses somekind of timing system to meausre all that stuff.

It seems good. I think the newer one does even more. It's not 100% acurate. but it can be used to estimate. It usually only a few tenths off of the 1/4 mi.

I have one. I haven't really been able to screw with it much, but i've heard lots of people say there fairly accurate. I tried the hp calculator and didn't have much luck. It's a little hard to use cause it has to be level to work. I guess i need more practice with it.

I have one. It's not 100% accurate, no, but it's still fun to mess around with and is decent for before/after comparisons when you're putting on mods.

I'd buy the new version if I could afford it.

it doesn't read anything through the cigarette lighter...it uses an accelerometer and calculates everything from that....the HP it gives you is just its best guess, the online one where you enter your car's weight and 1/4 mile time would probably be more accurate.

hmm...I will have to dig through my bookmarksit should be easily found by googling for 'hp calculator' though

here it is:http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm

I came up with 128hp from ET and 144hp from trap speed using the numbers I can recall

By new version do you mean competition trim, or does it look like the cheap gtech but "newer" or updated software like they do with the V1 radar detectors?
