In your own driveway? I'm an idiot and it took me an hour from start to finish. And that is INCLUDING a fuses and relays just so the stock harness will last longer. Thats better then paying someone 100 bucks to follow instructions that you can easily follow.

For some reason, people tend to pay "professionals" to do their work for them. Everything ive put on my car so far ive done it by myself after lots of research and i know ziltch about cars. Doing it yourself gives you the satisfaction in the end when you turn on your car and it works 100%.

Having just done mine last night in my driveway, I 100% agree. Just follow the how to threads in the stickies.

Besides maybe an intake, HID's are the most user-friendly mod in my opinion. Most of them are basically just plug and play!

Just make sure to get a decent set... I got an el-cheapo set and had to splice wires to make it fit.

6000k FTW!

Not true Man. Unlike you, I'm not an idiot (joking) and I've built several motors and cars from the ground up. But there comes a point in life where I'd rather pay someone else to do the installs rather than doing it myself. My time is worth more! I could be posting on NICO rather than banging my knuckles against metal. Point is this. With easy stuff like HIDs, stereos, etc, I can handle those no problem, but if I had a choice to be rolling on the ground, trying to install springs or sipping my coffee watching someone else do it, and him liable for the work...ummm yeah, I think I'll take the latter of that statement.

Now I know that doing your own work gives that person a "sense" of ownership but don't you get that feeling every month when you pay your car payment? Luckily for me, I don't have that problem since my car is paid for Life is good!

For things like changing the oil ill go to the dealership but for add-ons and modifications, i just like doing them myself. I mean sure if i had been a hands on automotive guy i'd probably be feel the same as you but this is the first car that i CARE about. Couple beat *** hondas and toyotas are nothing to modify. I want to know more about the car so why not do modifications yourself so you can understand it better? Im just not much of a car wiz as id like to be. Just an average joe wanting to know more about his car. And its not so much the sense of "ownership". I mean it is MY car so that sense is always there, its more the sense of self-satisfaction. It's like the feeling after doing a good job with ANYTHING and you step back and it looks great.

Amen to that. Her dimples + Australian accent just top it all off.

Hey gator, I didn't mean anything by the idiot comment. Just joking around with you. I've changed my own oil since I've gotten the coupe. I don't take it to the dealer. I like doing my own mods but I know my limits and that's all I am saying. My buddy who owns a garage is always willing to help me out and gives me a lift and a bay. I installed my cat-back in less than 1/2 hour. I would of been underneath the car for an hour if I didn't have a lift.

Also, although this is a Nissan forum, don't be hatin' on the Hondas or Toyotas. My last three cars and present car (wife's) is a and Acura. I've also owned an FJ Cruiser. Great vehicle to take off-roading but as for gas mileage...yeah, thats a different story. But they are all great cars and never had a problem with them. Infact, if you honestly look at it, Most imports (Nissan, Honda, Toyota) all have great re-sale value (ROI), unlike the domestic market. This is my first Nissan I've ever owned and so far I've been very impressed by it. I too am anxious to learn more about the car and to modify it so I share your passion there as well

Oh no i didnt take offense, nor did i mean my post to be an offensive retort in anyway. I don't really "hate" toyota or honda, i just hated my previous cars since they were mostly rusted metal boxes that were falling apart. Their cars last a long time but this is my first NEW car. And i hear you about the catback, i tried getting access to a lift but i had no luck so i used 2 car ramps that only lifted the rear up 7.5". It was JUST enough for me to get under the car and boy i gotta tell you, i've never cursed so many times within a 1 hour period. Your car looks great by the way.

Oh yeah not to jack the thread or anything, i remember seeing that you put some mesh onto your bumper. Where did you buy the mesh? I bought some universal mesh off ebay but the stuff was crap that you could get from home depot and the paint job the guy did was already falling apart by the time the package got delivered.

I suggest taking a look at this guys store

http://stores.ebay.com/ULTRABRIGHTLIGHTZ

I bought a McCULLOCH HID kit and it came with relays, fuses, and everything you need so its stricktly plug and play. However he sent me the wrong plugs at first but quickly sent me the correct ones asap, all i had to do was show him a picture of why it wasnt connecting. He's a great guy and McCULLOCH are one of the top HID companies. Some people bought generic but i highly do not want to go back and replace a fried ballast or bulb because i cheaped out on the product (not calling anyone cheap, dont crucify me)

Just a tad. I named it miranda cause the car looks hot and sounds even hotter. Just like the model I'd butter her bread. Twice.
