So I'm watching FX, and during the commercial break they showed the countdown to the GTA IV trailer, and it's been on for over 10 minutes now.

It's still on, and I'm too hypnotized to change the channel.

Another GTA game...

So did you actually see the preview? I'm requesting a full report.

I can't wait to see what Jack Thompson has in store for the game.

Take-Two Interactive filed a lawsuit against to prevent him from preventing the sale of Grand Theft Auto IV and Manhunt 2 to minors. They claim that Thompson's effort to block sales of its games through lawsuits violates the company's First Amendment rights.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm definitely on Take-Two's side. Thompson is a moron. His lawsuits are a waste of time. Most of them are quaranteed losses, but it keeps Take-Two tied up in courts and spending money. Some of Thompsons courtroom antics seem more like primetime TV material than the behavior of a lawyer.

I also give HUGE bonus points to Nintendo for permitting Manhunt 2 to be released on the Wii. I know Nintendo has always been a family-focused gaming company, and with the GCN, they initially had a sort of "No mature games" policy (ironic, considering that some of the most popular GCN games are M rated). But I think it's cool to see them branching out into more adult gaming realms.I hope the game makes them TONS of money and moves loads of consoles.

This is a very good article.http://planetgrandtheftauto.ga...id=89

Also, there are talks of Microsoft buying Take-Two, which could be interesting. Hopefully it would mean that GTA games would come out for the PC at the same time as they did for the consoles, though it could also mean the end of GTA for the PS.

And if GTA ever becomes a massive online world, it would be like a dream come true, I've always wanted that.

Yeah Thompson is a real jackass. He obviously has nothing better to do but put the blame on videogames/videogame companies. It's not their fault that parents don't monitor what their kids buy. Hell, they buy the games for them without even looking at the content. Who's fault is that? The ratings and info about the game are all on the box.

As far as i'm concerned he's just a tard with a personal vendetta against the videogame industry. Sometimes the things he says makes no sense at all. He's an annoying bug that just won't go away.

Dream scenario....Take-Two agrees to be bought my MS, but only if they are allowed to release a Wii GTA...then MS demands that they don't release GTA on PS3. That's be just hilarious

We've been trying to figure out what location they're gonna pick for this version at work. I'm banking on Atlanta. So far the west(including vegas), new york/new jersey, and florida have been covered. Doesn't leave too many places left unless they revisit them all.

It should be Detroit. What better city to cause mayhem in than one that's already pretty much there? Plus I could cruise by my old house, and shoot it up.

Take-Two isn't selling. Pretty much everyone in the industries (both gaming and the financial sector) realize its just a move to wrestle control back from majority shareholders.

Argh it happened to me too! I've been looking forward to this...should have expected something like this to happen. It never fails.

Now I can't even get to Rockstar's homepage.

Russian or some sort of Slavik. I love those guys. And it's not quite Liberty City, it looks like a near replica of New York. There may be country side and more cities as well

Liberty City has always been GTA's satire of New York...

Yea, I'm stupid, it is Liberty City, but it doesn't look ANYTHING like the LC from GTAIII (although it's been awhile since I've played GTA3). I'm preordering this ASAP

Really? I think it looks very much the same--just higher quality and some new features. I recognized every single shot except the Ferry Station and a few of the ones looking up at buildings.

The Cathedral is the one on the north side of Staunton, for instance.

I'm also thinking the sedan shown is the new Sentinel.

I hope so. I'm getting kinda tired of them doing LC/NY over and over again.
