What if it takes place in LC, VC AND SA?

They're all pretty far apart, but it would be neat if you could fly from one city to the other.I'm really hoping they'll find a way to make the new game as big as San Andreas was. Maybe the whole state in which LC exists, or something along those lines. It would be hard to go back to tiny little liberty after San Andreas. Plus, a lot of the fun of SA was cruising the highways, which LC is lacking entirely.

There's also the mysterious "Carcer City" that's just north of Liberty City.A lot of people were hoping we'd get to see it in Liberty City Stories, but no such luck.

What is this Carcer city you mentioned? Is it in the old GTA game?

It's where Manhunt takes place.

Was that the one where if you cheated in GTA3 you could like fly through it, yet it wasn't solid?

Sorta like the secret "Drag Strip" that they left in GT2 that required all this crap to get to only to realize it was just some extra crap the designers left in?

Nah see my post above.

You're thinking about Blue Hell.

Actually, Brisknfade is right.

You could go to Carcer City in GTAIII...sort of. It's a ghost world that you can't stand on...no clipping/physical presence. It's there because it's where the opening cinematic takes place.

Then later they made it the setting of Manhunt.

Nope, Carcer City wasn't in the original. But I hope they eventually expand beyond the three original cities. I was really hoping IV would take place in a new one...but as long as they make LC big enough, I'll still be happy. Even though Vice City was my favorite game in the series, I liked LC a LOT better than VC as far as the map. VC was just too flat. LC had more variety. They really need to do another London.

Hmm didn't know that one. Isn't it known as Blue Hell also though?

Such hidden things that you're not meant to do make GTA fun. It's funny how they just decided to put an Easter Egg into Vice City, and now all gaming websites call hidden things and places in games Easter Eggs. I like games with random hidden stuff, inside jokes, and all kinds of references.

I think Vice City has been my favorite so far, its atmosphere was great, nothing like a sunrise in Vice City, I want to move there, haha.

Agreed. Every GTA has hidden things to find. It's part of the fun of the games and luckily R* are one of the very very few remaining game developers who still understand that sort of thing.

The "easter egg" stuff was the other way around, though. The term existed LONG before Vice City did. There is an easter egg in the game because of the term, not vice versa.

OK, well I really liked San Andreas out of all of them, not because of the story but because it was HUGE, really made me feel like I was exploring a "country". If I based it on story, I'd go with Vice City.

Please share some more secret stuff, and how to "unlock" it.

Even GTA isn't a reason to own a PS3. The Xbox360 version will be better. The PS3 version may end up looking better, but the 360 version will have downloadable content.

I do prefer the PSx controller for GTA games, though. I can't get used to using the trigger buttons for throttle and brake.

Thats the troof.

Downloadable content FTW! I kinda like the triggers for gas/brake. Easier to modulate the "pedals", at least in racing games.

GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas are all available for PC (In fact EVERY GTA game is available for PC. Consoles got all but one, and the console versions of GTA II and GTA London 1969 were neutered and not nearly as good as their PC counterparts). The Xbox versions are not better...at best they're the same. But my Xbox can't do 1440x900 16:9. My PC can. I have all three (of the 3D series) games for Xbox and PC (and PS2...). PC versions are definitely better. In fact, mouse aiming alone changes the game (for the better) by a huge margin. Some of the hardest missions on PS2 and Xbox become the easiest missions with a mouse (at least for me).

The Xbox version of Vice City did actually have higher quality car models (with the better wheels) but someone released a mod for the PC version that added the Xbox wheels.

Also, PC versions have HUGE amounts of mods. There are tons of user-made cars, maps, missions, etc. for PC versions. There are also multiplayer mods for VC and San Andreas for PC.

Here's a good example of what can be done with the PC version.

Many people don't like playing PC games because of the keyboard and mouse, but I actually prefer it that way. That's how I started gaming, and I've always liked it. Also, there are many different PC controllers available, some of which are almost exact copies of PS and XBox controllers.

I prefer keyboard and mouse for FPS, but a regular game controller for anything else. I have one of those converter dealies that lets you use a normal keyboard and mouse on the Xbox. It didn't work perfectly but it made playing Halo 2 significantly easier. Headshots left and right all the time.

Also, there are talks of Microsoft buying Take-Two, which could be interesting. Hopefully it would mean that GTA games would come out for the PC at the same time as they did for the consoles, though it could also mean the end of GTA for the PS.

And if GTA ever becomes a massive online world, it would be like a dream come true, I've always wanted that.
Infact such game is coming out. Its called APB. The game is a massive online multiplayer game. not much info on it right now but looks very very interesting Here is a trailer. http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1878

It's funny, another post said how much more mature the gamers were than the rest of the community here, but then this thread just proves otherwise.
