Is a Garret GT35r turbo practical on a built sr20 or would it just make it dyno queen... or whatever they call em'

GT35R has a nice large 68mm Compressor, it is indeed ball bearing but expect quite a bit of lag. Just guessing from my KA-T knowledge youll get full Boost somewhere near 4000 RPM with a .63 A/R Turbine and with a .8* A/R expect to be hitting full boost around 5000 RPM.

With the SR being a smaller motor than the KA that would not be my streetable turbo of choice since I like some response prior to 3000 RPM.

What are your power goals? If theyre arent crazy Id personally reccomend a GT30 Series turbo or maybe even the GT32R. That will spool ok/decent and make good power.

that's a pretty common turbo so u'll find a lot about it but personally I'd go with a GT30/32 like mentioned above. I'm not a huge turbo kinda guy though. What are ur goals?

600WHP in a S-Chassis is rediculous man. : /.

What are you wanting to beat an Enzo? or a Pro-Charged C6 Z06 Vette?

Expect 20psi around 5krpm and 30psi around 5500rpm with the GT35R .82 on the SR20. Im going GT35R myself but im going Twin Scroll which will give more torque during spool up and better response. Also use some nitrous if you want hard hitting from 4krpm. A small 35 shot will help spool alot. High HP and Deep Pockets go hand and hand. Impossible to do it without spending the neccessary money.

Its all on car setup for drag racing. Alot of Supra guys try to stay 6 speed and have to run a rediculous clutch to hold the power. For some reason they also use big wheels and thin tires majority the time too. All it would take is a properly built Auto trans, 10.5" wide meaty slicks, and some suspension work and those cars will be 8 and 9 second rockets. Theres a point when the Manual transmission hurts more than helps. Also race that 1000whp Supra from a roll and see how it goes. It takes a 700whp Supra to keep up with a Hyabusa so i couldnt imagine what 1000whp would be like. I watched a MKIV a year ago run a 11.2 @ 121mph using an Auto trans. By the mph and weight of the car its around 500whp i think. Supras in general are good, its the owners lack of a proper setup that wont make them hook. Ill be making the switch to a built Z32TT Auto next year. Should make for some crazy fast times using a GT35R and Nitrous. Sorry about the rant.
