So I'm far from a noob but I have never really looked into aftermarket turbos too much. Would this be a good turbo for an RB25? I'm not looking for gobs of power and would like to retain some streetability (not a ton of lag), but my stock turbo is **** and a person locally is selling this:

prescision gt3076R e compressor cover .63 t3 turbine

I'm thinking the .63 may be too small and would cause the power to fall off on the top end?

Thanks guys!

.63 is where you want to be as far as lag and such..., Last season I was running a Garrett T04-S (60-1) turbo, .63/.63 iirc, on 22lbs of boost. Id hit full boost by 3400. I made 420whp w/ that setup w/ full boltons and a very restrictive downpipe and horrible tune. I'm not sure what you consider "good" power, but that turbo, w/ all the supporting mods, should get you upwards of 400whp pretty easily. I think you'd like that turbo if you want to be around there. How much boost you plan on running? Is the motor built at all? Do you have all the supporting mods to help out w/ this turbo?

I run a 3076r on my daily driver at 8psi with stock management and fuel and love it. One of these days when I can afford to upgrade that stuff I'll look for 400 out of it pretty easily.

Great turbo. You will likely see full boost around 3500 RPM with supporting mods I'd bet you are in the low 400whp range on pump and it will support about 500whp if you want to push it to the limit.

And of course it has the strong GT center section. All around a very good turbo and a pretty good match for the street/strip RB25.

I'm not looking for anything over 400whp, if that. The engine is stock internally. I guess the only real mod would be the Greddy IM. I'm just looking for a replacement turbo as mine is effed. I will also have stand alone and plan to upgrade injectors obviously.

If I were to run only 15-18psi, is that under this turbo's efficiency range, or will I be good? What kind of power should I expect with that amount of boost?

15-18psi should be nicely in the efficiency range of a 3076r.

15-18 psi is a very good range for the turbo... Actually if you check out the compressor map:http://80tq.com/~wiz/gallery2/....html

You'll see the thing will get to the center efficency circle any where from about 8psi clear up to about 26psi, and even past those ranges (into the low 30s) it is still fairly efficient.

As for power there are TONS of variables including the other mods on the car the tune etc. albeit a different engine (although similar size/flow) I made 350whp at 16psi on the SRT-4 2.4l with the 3076r. So my rough guess is that with a good tune you will see somewhere around 350whp to maybe 380whp or so at those boost levels, but again just a guess.
