I have been searching and cannot seem to find out if a gt3071r can fit on the stock rb20det exhaust manifold in a s13 chassis. Does anyone know?

I doubt it. Try searching. If you can't find that info yourself you shouldn't even attempt putting that turbo on that motor.

Stock manifolds a T2 flange. Isn't gt3071r a T3? Either way it would be best to get an after market manifold to run that big.

I think the stock manifold fits a t3

Its t3, It works... We did it where I use to work.. we even made it external wastegate with a 38mm tial welded to the stock manifold.

Just don't get a big back housing. get the smallest you can... because anything too big can get laggy on that motor. What are you planning on doing with the car?

Drag, drift, grip?

I plan on using the car mostly for driving on the road with an occasional track day or autoX. Was the exhaust difficult to fit around the steering shaft?

Would fitting a gt2871r compressor housing onto the gt3071r chra and turbine housing allow clearance at the compressor without using a spacer?

Yes it will fit.
You might need a spacer.

But you need to check out the RB forum.

if you clearance the exhaust manifold and part of the compressor cover it will work...gotta be careful grinding the manifold tho...tends to be thin where it needs to be ground.
