So I totalled my passat turbo a few months back and wanted to know if this turbo will fit with a basic manifold onto my car? It's a GT28RS for a 2004 VW 1.8T Passat?? And if so, what is the cheapest manifold I can get? I'm not going for any big numbers at all really, just a basic daily driver with like 5-10 pounds and 200ish WHP would make me happy also what is the general way of adjusting boost in these setups.. same as my passat (some cheapy mbc that just connected with some rubber piping)

thank you!! i'm very excited to turbo my KA20 I had no idea until I read the sticky now I'm excited for so many reasons, mainly that I don't need an SR20 to boost and don't need that much $$$ either! (If this turbo fits)

No idea if that turbo has some strange flange or a normal T2 flange. It SHOULD work, however do your own research. Google it and figure out if the turbo comes with a t2 flange or something strange.

If it comes with a t2 flange like it should, then you can get a 150 dollar ebay t2 bottom mount manifold and be fine.

Nope, your sol. Sell it to someone on VW forums and buy a t2. That thing is probably worth 350-500 dollars at least.

You COULD make it work but its not going to be worth it at all. To much custom chit for nothing really.

maybe get the flange cut off your passat manifold and get it welded to a KA manifold.

Its beyond even that man. Look at the discharge flange on that, it would be a custom downpipe as well. Just way to much work to be worth it.

Like i said, IMO your best option is to join a few VW forums and sell that turbo there. They are worth a mint, its a great turbo.

I can actually hook you up if you wanted. My friend owns a turbo shop and i could get you a normal used exhaust housing for that thing. T2 flange .80 AR would be perfect for that turbo on the Ka. The problem would be rigging up the wastegate. You would need a new actuator and bracket.

[email protected] if your interested.

Do you still have that turbo from the Passat? If so are you interested in selling it?

Go to ATPturbo.com and buy a T2 housing for like 200 bucks.

The end.
