I just finished installing my GT2871R and Im having a problem with boost. Im running a Greddy Profec B but I cant seem to get the turbo to boost beyond .25 bar. Regardless of what I set the boost controller to, the turbo still will not boost beyond that.

Also, just to see if it was my boost controller, I disconnected it and the turbo still will not boost, (actually is boosting only around .2bar when the actuator is just vented to atmosphere)

Im thinking this maybe some problem with the way that I put the actuator on. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue.

sounds to me like a wastegate problem or a really really bad boost leak.

The car pulls a lot of vaccum at idle and my wide band says my car isnt running rich so I doubt its a really bad boost leak. I was leaning towards the actuator being my problem. Does anyone know how much tension is supposed to be on the actuator/flapper valve at rest? I adjusted the length of the arm so that the arm fit but I wasnt really sure how much tension is supposed ot be on there, has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like the W/G is stuck open.

Try adjusting the actuator arm in small increments until boost is registered.

If no response to that, then you might have to remove the downpipe to inspect the turbocharger.

I adjusted my HKS actuator until I had to barely pull it out to go on the flapper. Basically just a tad of preload on the spring to keep the exhaust "breeze" from blowing it open.

Bet yall haven't ever heard of exhaust breeze until now have you.

Finally fixed the problem. My boost problem was cause by the same thing as my MAF problem. I had a dirty small little filter mounted on the Z32 MAFS and that seemed to cause the sensor to read very irratically. I took the filter off and tried running the car with no filter and it runs great. Now I just have to get a nice clean bigger filter to stick on there
