Gt2871 VS Top Mount T3/T04E

I have had a couple sr'd 240's, this being the 3rd but have never upgraded the turbo. I have been pondering for a couple days which way to go. This is what im thinking.

Gt2871R With Full Race Bottom Mount Mani, Greddy 02 extVST3/T04E with Full race Top Mount, And enjuku, turbo Extension/wastegate dump tubes. Im undecided on trim for T3/T04E, probably a 48 ar so spool up with be good still.

Either way the car will have hks 264 cams, mild head work, full supporting mods.IC, Intake, Dp, Exhuast.

With either setup i will need z32 maf, ic pipe, Injectors,Lines, and Dyno Time with tunning. I think the big benefit to the GT2871R is a little faster spool up, ease of install. Benefits of T3/T04E is more hp. It seem most Sr's with gt2871 dynos i have found are around 330whp, but i have seen t3/t04e's around 370whp. With cams, i have Seen the Gt2871r hit near 370whp, and the T304E break over 400. I could always go with the .84 trim vs the .64 on the 2871r.

The car is not really built toward drag or auto x. May take it to Drag a couple times a year, or Auto x. Ultimatly i need to be faster then my Buddies bolt on Z06. Id love to hear any input you guys have. Thanks in advance, Chris

hey man i have also been looking into upgrading my turbo and have been real intertested in the gt2871 rs ( the hks style) i know phase2motorsports.com sells them and it seems you can youse exist piping with a lil $ 100 adapter they ahve, also i have recently seen a threead on here i bleive of peopole maybe just about 400 with a gt2871 and cams and sutff, i will look for this thread.... i hope this helps, im still debating on what to do also soo if anyone could please shed some lite on this also....

Well 400whp *May* be enough to pull your friends Bolt on ZO6 on topend... but highly unlikely as they have better gearing and aerodynamics. But 450whp should do the trick...

Top Mount t3/t4 with a precision sc32 or sc61 will do the trick just right and spool nice and fast...

BTW SC61 is a t3t4 capable of 650whp+ and is at 20psi on a 1.6ltr honda engine by 4k. Our 2.0's should spool them faster... bah T2 Turbo's, who needs em. In vegas almost all of our streets are long and straight and either uphill or downhill. Light to light I easily see 100mph. That and we have a Beltway which travels around the entire city smooth as silk where we see speeds of 180mph+ all the time (on bikes that is)...
