the .64 a/r is supposed to spool about like the t28 on the s14/s15 motors. The lag is very minimal. You should be able to get about 320-350 hp with that turbo and it still feel like the factory spool time. You should see around 400 with the .86

this turbo will be mine when my t25 ****s the bed. I'll be plenty happy with an extremely responsive 300whp and great turbo life.

that's an HKS designation, not a garrett designation. i believe the garrett model that came of that HKS model is the GT2876R. it is very mismatched and will spool late and boost doesn't build slowly and progressively. it just comes almost all at once. maybe somebody who has one will confirm, but i don't know many people who have one. i talked to a guy who used to have one at about 390whp but changed to a T3/T4 and now makes 430whp. he said the HKS GT2540R spooled way slower than his T3/T4, so that should tell you something. he also said the T3/T4 made more power and built boost better. that's sad that a ball-bearing turbo can be so well beaten by a 30-year-old turbo design.

like many HKS turbos, Garrett started selling them themselves when they realized the success HKS had. the HKS GT2540R i believe is now sold by Garrett as the GT2876R.
