i have a red top sr20. So i just bought a new turbo T28 out of a S15. I understand i need a special return line from the S15. But is there anyway to rig my 89 240sx hatch LHD to use the stock T25 oil flange. Pics if possible. Been trying to figure away out.

Second- So i installed the turbo and turned it on. I can tell oil has been going through my exhaust system (maybe from the ghetto oil return line connection). Also Greyish whtie smoke comes out of my exhaust. When i adjsut my idle. i put it at about 800. I put some gas and put it at 3k. then let it drop it flies down to about i dunno 600 flies up to to about 1,300 sits there for afew seconds and drops back to 800.

What could be wrong?

There is a possibility that it is your return setup. You should be able to blow into the feed end of the turbo and have no restriction on the return end. If you do, you may have clogged passages in the oiling passages on that turbo. The next thing to check for it to look at the exaust side of that turbo. If it was used it is possible that the rings are worn out and oil is getting into the turbine. Your feed line could be too big as well, but willing to bet this is not your issue. I had this problem on my ka-t, and the turbo I had originally bought rebuilt was not cleaned properly thus it had a clogged oil passage causing improper draining. Hope this helps good luck

white smoke = blown rings or water/coolant getting into your exhaust (or engine)

my bet is the other.

we did a compression test already its good. if i didnt have work all the time i'd remove the intake elbow and check for shaft play. i've noticed that the buttom of the exhaust housing isstarting to rust.

So it must be the coolant going through. I'm curious to know where it is coming through the engine or the turbo cause my last T28 turbo i had on it i blew and oil & thick white/grey smoke was coming out so. maybe jsut i got a bad used turbo or ya think it could be in the engine? cause i just recently also threw a rod in my SR and had it replaced too.

you threw a rod and replaced it? just the rod? hows that work out? when you throw a rod usually your block ends up with a huge hole in it.maybe you ment you spun a rod bearing? that would make more sense.
