should i go with the .64 or .86 housing , and will the s15bb turbo housing work on the GT25r?

By S15 turbo housing, do you mean the turbo extension? If so, then yes it fits.

It's a good turbo...caused a lot of debate in another thread. With the .86 a/r it should be good for the mid-low 300's. It's got a T04s compressor but the back side is still small (t2) so don't expect 400hp out of it...it's too mis-matched. FYI, SR's are making close to 400 with this turbo (and every other supporting mod on the market). In a nutshell, for all out power this turbo is as good as it gets when it comes to bolt on turbos.

Note that the turbo does not come w/ an actuator. If you have an extra mani lying around, you may want to weld in an external gate and have the wastegate flapper welded shut on the GT25r. This way you won't have to worry about boost creep.

IMO, for the cost of this turbo, you should get a log top mount mani, properly sized t3/t4, and custom downpipe...you'll get more power and more room to upgrade.

i think that would really be pushing it to try and get all that for 1025. i would definately bank on spending alot more for unexpected things. you need: a manifold, wastegate, turbo, new dp/turbo extension, new gaskets, etc. instead of a new turbo that will use almost all the same stuff(still need gaskets but bear with me). i would expect to see 350 from it looking at what the sr's are making, and what its rated for. hell, my gt28r is good for 320 according to garrett.

Well, you still have to add on the cost of an actuator to the GT25r (or weld on a wastegate), plust the 4" intake piping that needs to make a 90 degree bend to clear the p/s pump, and possibly custom oil lines. Sure the GT25r will be cheaper, I never said it wouldn't. It won't be that much cheaper.

Oh, and Garrett's claims are not whp...they are estimates for flywheel hp using the most recommended displacement.

yeah, i know. i never said i was talking about whp figures. i didnt know about the intake piping and i flaked on that whole actuator deal. in that case i would probably go with the t3/t04.

What I mean is, they use hypothetic engine calculations...so if the turbo is recommended for say 1.6ltr to 2.2ltr motors, they'll use the 2.2ltr's of displacement for their calculations and assume any other other numbers too (to their advantage of course). That goes for I/C efficiency (prob pretty high), atmospheric pressure (likely sea level), volumetric efficiency, ect ect. Basically, don't believe the hype...believe only what's been proven and take things like estimated hp, compressor maps, and air flow with a grain of salt.

i had something like this on my GTIR, i am now trying to fit it to a CA. it was .7 a/r comp and .64ex. it didn't give as much gain over the GTIR turbo as i expected for the price and the huge comp cover makes it hard to fit  but i will say this; with some fuelling and other mods to the SR and 18psi it was very fast, felt like it would supply boost until 15000rpm and had similar response to the standard unit
