I looking for a upgrade turbo for my Nissan Sr20Det turbo. (Silvia/200sx/240sx) Have about 300 engine hp today.

I have got my eyes on the Garret GT25 BB turbo. I't seems to be a very good choice since it will bolt on to the orginal manifold and should fit my Elbow/frontpipe.

I's there anybody here running one? I'm currently looking at the around 400 hp model. Is there enough space for it with the standard manifold? Maybe if I use adapter plates and two gaskets to get it lower? (do you understand)

GT25 705330-0001 420hk A/R 0.64 Turbin=54mm -outlet=47mm Trim=76 Compressor A/R=0.70 Size=76mm-TO4S Inlett=53mm Trim=48

There is also a A/R 0.86 of the one above. Same price.

Is this turbo a good choice? Will my stock internals coop with it? Planing on running 1.2 bar or so with 450cc injectors, z32 AFM and Apexi S-afc. (already have) And maybe a FPR if A/F gets to low. I have a EGT meter, and planning to borrow a broadband a/f.

What about spinn upp? Since it BB it shouldend be too bad, will it?

Is this a good choice?

Thanks!

Good, I'd get the larger A/R. The turbo is excellent, your internals will cope with it, the injectors might be a bit on the small side, depends on what duty cycle you want to run them at, but everything else should be ok. You'll spool around 3k. Enjoy your day!!

That sounds very good! But wount the 0.86 make it a lot "laggy"?Do you have any "hands on" experience with these turbos?

Do you know if it fits perfect or if you must lower it or something?

I guess the injectors might be to small. But They could be 480, and I have a fuel pressure regulator for smaller change.

the stock manifold is crap, dont use it, get a better manifold if going with the gt series turbo, the stock mani would be too restrictive, and you would not realize the full potential of the turbo...you can get a KMD manifold with the t25 flang for a good price....

The A/R of .86 might seem high but that turbo is relatively small to begin with. And any modern turbo, especially a ball bearing one will spool up quickly. I'd agree with daunttless, and say that lag wont be a big issue at all and that that turbo sounds great.

heh, or you can just look at the A/R on the stock turbo to prove that point : )

Nice! quick replyes! Thougt the time diffrence would make me have to wait :oface

I know that the stock manifold is "crap", but thats another cost :( One of the reasons getting the GT25 is avoiding a total new installation.

And I have my eyes on the turbo and Apexi Power FC. And that will set me back more than I can afford :(

KMD manifold? How much are they?

I doubt you'll see 450hp on a 2ltr...don't be sad if you don't.

As for lag, it will probably spool similar to stock with more punch up high.

Basically it's a T28/T04S with a roller bearing setup. Seems like a really cool street turbo to me.:-)

The 0.64 should spool up around 500rpm slower than a T28BB I heard. What setup depents on what you will use you car for. I think 0.64 is better for most, but 0.86 might be better for drag racing etc ?

you will spool slower then stock. 20psi by 4000 rpm i would think. this is a low lag setup if you ask me.

but you are going to be mistaken if you think that the intake elbow and hot pipe will work. you will need to fab these new. its a to4s housing, not a t3 intake housing that the t25 has. completely different. imo, this is a great turbo! but do you need the ball bearing? if not, you can machine out the stock t25 housing for a stage one wheel and then use a t3 chra with a to4s compressor or a to4e compressor. half the cost.shaun

Pampadori, whats your experience with the t25 and upgrading it. Such as max hp/max boost with the set up you just explained. Im curious. Because swapping to a gt25 and fab'in the elbow and h pipe for the price if not prepared to blow bucks on a new many is a good alternative to some. But if theres another alternative then thats even better. What do you think?

you will still have to fab a elbow and intake. but i mean its a lot cheaper of a turbo and should give 350rwhp.i have a turbo that has the following specs...stage 1 t3 turbine wheel, t25 turbine housing, rebuilt t3 cartridge connected to t25 housing via a adapter plate, to4e 46 trim wheel, in a t04e super compressor housing (.70a/r with 4" inlet, almost just like a to4s)

i haven't run it, and might just sell it without ever using it. the only problem is that it takes a while to make it. you have to have a spare t25 if your car is daily driven.

im running a GT2530 on my Ca, it spools up around 2500, i hit full boost by 3200rpm , im only running about 12-13psi though! , and that turbo doesnt even come to life till around 5000rpm when it reall pulls fast to 7000, i like the turbo n it was a steal for me !

I have a question... Now that we are talking about turbos. I heard that the RB26DETT has T28s stock, but the A/R on the exhaust side is more on the slim side compared to the one on the S15. Is this true?and how do these turbos differ from eachother?
