How easy is it to change a GT-T into a GT-R.....i know it isnt compeltly possible. Cause i dont know much about the GT-T currently, but im sure its RWD not AWD like the GT-R? But how easy or hard is it to swap a RB26DETT plus the 6-speed transmission into it? Also will the front clip from a GT-R bolt right up to the GT-T, then sideskirts and rear bumper.....what else am i missing....?

Thank YouPatrick

I would say from medium to hard swap.

you need the entire front subframe... AWD front subframes are not like RWD front crossmembers. you don't have to switch to rb26.. just need the oil pan and modify the pickup. But if want the rb26 go for it...but if you are staying below 500 hp why even bother? The front clip should supply what you need.. to be bolted on your gt-t. I don't know much about the electronics of getting the attesa running....

only R34 has the 6 speed transmission... all older models have 5 speed...don't forget to get transfer case to diff driveshafts and the front half shafts...

good luck...

If you don't know the difference between a GT-R and non GT-R models, then I think you should learn them before you start asking how to convert one to another

Way to contradict yourself. But, iin all honesty...it's not worth the time or money. Just buy a GT-R.

the way i meant it was, i didnt know too much about the GT-T as in what would be needed to make it work i.e. the motor mounts half shafts and what not.

i know the difference between the actual models tohugh.

i want to get a GT-R but im in the States, and the only way to get me a R34 GT-R is thorugh Kaizo, or finding one of the few motorex's that were brought in for the time that motorex was able to bring them in. But ive found a good bit more GT-T's in the states, which would make it easier for me to grab a hold of, for a MUCH cheaper price, and drop a RB26 into it.

There's fantasy and there's reality...

You have all the fantasy...

but the reality is .. a r34 front clip is expensive and hard to come by.

If you want the AWD legend. Just get the front subframe, half shafts, front drive shaft, the oil pan, oil pick up, and the 5 speed transmission. 6th gear is for cruising, and yes the 6 spd getrag is expensive. And finally... all the electronics that has to detect slip, torque and make the transfer case split the work. That would be the cheapest way to do the conversion. Then you can spend the rest of your money making your engine 500 ponies without getting the rb26. (if you really like the look of the rb26, they fit on the rb25/20 with different intake manifold)

And in the end you will be happy with your car that can go just as fast as a beef up GTR.

But.. all in all... you really are better off getting a GTR... a R32.. which is the lightest of the 3..

Just wondering... whats wrong with Evos and Subis?... or even the Porsche 911 which are AWD...and will get you laid

we have a porsche already, subis and evos are cool as hell, just not my cup of tea, and too many of them around here. I really want something different, me and my father almost imported a GT-R 4 years ago, but we never put the time into it. Plus i really would like a right hand drive car also.

I wasnt aware i can make it AWD and all with the 5 speed, and RB25DET. Cause only the GT-Rs were AWD which all featured the RB26DETT in them. So if this is possible, ill probably take the NEO-6 manifold off, put a RB26 head on it, and just upgrade the turbo.

Thanks for all the help so far guys.

hmm, I meant the valve covers... I was thinking faster than I could type.

you are going to need the 5 speed with the transfer case.. the 5 speed that comes with the car won't be sufficient.

oh i know the stock 5 speed tiptronic will not be sufficient. I just wasnt sure if the 5 speed manual would mount to the transfer case that would allow AWD
