this guy in my small town of culpeper va has a civic hatch, kitted out , rims, and a GSR motor with a T4 turbo, and he claims his car to be the fastest import in town. I m not sure if any one in this forum is familiar with the GSR motors, but who do you guys think would win between the gsr turbo civic and an s13 with an SR20 motor swap, which is what im planning on doin(but of course everyone on this forum is planning on doing it, but anyways) any opinions?

gsr= 197hp http://www.ardperformance.com/...index + t4 gives 60hp (don't quote me) total 257hp if it's a hatchback he will under weigh you

sr20=205hp

he will win your running stock JDM against a turbo JDM if you upgrade the turbo and add an intercooler then you should be able to beat him

Whats up with people wanting to compare built motors to a stock SR? Get a SR, throw some **** on it, and then go race, make the playing field fair :D Highly modded GSR motor vs. Stock sr, something doesn't seem really fair there.

its because a highly modded gsr v. a highly modded sr....there's no competition :P, we gotta make the playing field fair by running stock against the modded honduhs for them to even TRY and keep up !

well, i was comparing the stock sr because thats what im probly gona have for a year of two until i can build my money back up, im not taking anything away from the engine, thats actually giving it props by comparing the sr to a modified gsr if you think about it(even though i wasnt really comparing them i just asked who you all thought wold win), but anyways, thanks for the input people:)

B18B is the Integra LS motor... 140HP in the newest motor.B18C1 (USDM GSR) = 170HPB18C (JDM GSR) = 180HP

Um, the generation of the civic is important when it comes to factor power-to-weight. The civic would win for sure, even its a 6G.

Is the tubo all he has on the civic, I'm sure he's got more than that, do you know what other mods or how much hp he's got?

how about a highly moded b18C vs your highly modded SR...and I'm talking about Kenny Tran B18C civic...guess the power it produces. I'll give you a clue, it has 527HP per litter.

the civic with turbo gsr motor, unfortunately:( .thats because he weighs less and will have more power.turbos add alot of power, and like somebody else said,he probably has alot more stuff under the hood.

upgrade the SR with the same mods, and you will win.

with a stock sr swap you would be around low 14's 1/4's. Just a gsr in a hatch without turbo would be there. But it all depends on how the car is tuned, and what kinda psi is he runing. I know of a gsr teg in my area with a t3/t4 and he runs mid 14's. But the reason is the car isn't tuned. He also has a really bad fuel cut out.

Yeah i think the civic will get ya. But for future ref use this site, just pick the honda and the motor and it will tell you the quater mile time, give or take a bit. Its prutty goodhonda swapsAnd rember even though the times look a bit low, these are for stock motors. and when was the last time you saw a honda with a motor swap that was totall stock?

well..... the Hatch will be lighter for sure. But Hatchs with that much hp are hard to launch. They cant hook up at all. So if you can get him on the jump you will have a chance...... but that is your only hope..... his top end will kick ***.

My buddie's GSR 5G Hatch runs a 14-flat... motor is pretty much stock. With a turbo kit you are lookin at high12's/low13's.
