Did you try using the key? It's possible the valet lock is switched on if you're trying to get at it through the gas/trunk lever. If it really is stuck, well....I think there is a whole behind the rear seat that you can use to gain access to the trunk. Not positive though.

did it ever open it before w/ the key?

There is one way to do this, but it will require a bit of dexterity - I figured this out when removing my lock.

if you take out ur rear seat, you can reach toward the back where the lock is. The lock is only held down by the latch & a long metal clip (usually going toward the driver side directly behind the lock on the inside of the trunk).

Pull the long metal clip out, then from the outside, you can rotate the lock physically and remove it.

From there, nothing will hold the trunk to the latch.

Once you get that thing opened, the first thing you'll want to check out is the hook for the latch. Make sure it didn't come loose and slide down - that will make the lever not open the trunk properly. If that's not the case, you'll want to inspect the cable.

If you turn the key, there's this small metal piece that pushes another metal piece to unlock it. I would take it apart and see what's going on. I think it's just a matter of adjusting stuff around.

ROFL, well that would have been better to mention than your original post that the trunk wouldn't open w/ the key - making some of us think something happened that caused it not to open w/ th key.

Anyway, with that knowledge, before you try the trick I mentioned, try this:

- get someone else to pull on the trunk while you hold the trunk lever by the driver seat up.

With the new info, just sounds like you have totally blown trunk struts, the trunk should open w/ 2 ppl for now so that you can replace the struts (you can search for that once you are able to open the trunk.
