Ok, I'm putting this in here because this would be a RWD CA18DET only kinda thing. Here is what it is. There is a company called Extrude Hone. What they do is is a process called, are you ready for this.... extrude honing! Check out this site:http://www.extrudehone.com/powerflow.ht ... htmlAnyway, here is the deal, normally, they would charge an individual $485 to do their Aluminum 4cyl manifold. If we can get six of us (at least) together who are willing to have this done to their intake manifolds, the price drops to $330. (For Tim, thats a savings of $155) If you are SERIOUS about this, either post in here, or shoot me an email [email protected]. When we've got six together, I'll get the ball rolling and we can get this done. I think turn around is pretty quick from what I've read and I think your car would only be down for a short while (prob a week). Thanks guys/gals, and lemme know what you think!

I am very interested in this (always wanted to do it and have been reading about it for years now). Would you happen to know how much to have both intake and exhaust manifolds done? I will be pulling out my CA18 for a rebuild soon anyways and this seems like a deal that I dont want to pass up while my motors out. Thanks

We would have to do a separate one for the exhaust manifold. The GB is for the intake mani. If we wanted the exhaust's on it too, it would be another 6 and different money. But for the price for the exhaust, I think you could get one of the ones on eBay...

I was planing on running an ebay manifold but those things are known to crack. I rather buy something that I know wont crack even if it doesnt flow or look as good. Besides, I live in Cali and if a cop pops my hood and sees a stock exhaust manifold and stock heat sheild they arnt gonna think twice about it. If they saw one of those ebay shinny manis with a turbo hanging on it, im dead.

Kick him in the junk if he's got a problem with it. Then take is car, drive it into the closest tree, and then casually drive off...

there are some good results to be had from this mod for standard manifold, both exhaust and inlet.

the honing can also be carried out on turbo compressor housings and head.

Yea they do some really nice work to turbos, manifolds, and heads. I plan on having my head work done at hasslegren (Local machine shop that builds cart motors for TRD) though. But if I didnt have such a nice machine shop around here I would have sent my head off to be honed too.

But yea, float can you find out if they will give me some sort of discount for having two manis ported at the same time or if they will let my exhaust count as one of the six we need. Cause if they did you would only need three more people. Hehehehe

Now where were you people when I tried to get a group together for extrude honing exhaust manis about 3 months ago? Oh well; wish I could get in on this but I'll be in New Zealand the week after next and that trip is pretty much breaking the bank...

Boro, they all have to be the exact same item. For the group buy to work they all would have to be CA18DET (8 port) intake manifolds.

i dont have $155, let alone the 350...but it is a sweet deal. maybe sometime in the not too distant future...

oh who am i kidding, im in debt up to my armpits because of my car. itll be awhile... i cant even afford to get a fuel pressure regulator yet. i get to keep the boost at a couple of pounds and run it in for a few months..
