Correction. 6790RPM redline, but it makes more power than most 4 bangers within it's limited RPM range. It's also limited to it's redline from it's massive stroke..Stroke on the SRT-4 is 101mm, stroke on the KA24de is 96mm.Bore on the SRT-4 is 87.5mm, KA24de's bore is 89mm.Stroke is what limits redline, not piston bore. The KA's stroke is at 96mm so it will get considerably more rev, than an srt-4 engine, 5mm stroking distance in a crank case is a huge difference.

Journal diameters is the only other issue that causes redline indifferences from friction.

All this cool stuff that AMS comes out with after I build my motor... Dang it... Dang it to hell!I would be more than willing to build another motor, but I almost got a divorce from building my last KA... lol

no man it redlines at 6 grand, lower than our factory ka redline. But yeah stroke does really hamper the high rev capabilities. I maybe suspected that dodge was playing it safe so they wouldn't get so many srt-4's under warranty with spun bearings and thrown rods in their tech shops lol...

I would consider it maybe if i was pushing 500rwhp, but in my hp range i don't think it is much bang for the buck...

I dunno know about that, the specs claim that it redlines to 6750, I claimed 6790 so I am a tad off.But it makes a crap load of power at 5300RPM @230HP to the crank...I've never seen so much torque produced so early in the rpm range @ 2200RPM it makes 250FT/LB.s of torque!!! Thats freakin amazing if thats what it makes at the factory specs.http://www.modernracer.com/dodgeneonsrt4.html

I did happen to pull a couple of dynoe's and power does drop after 6200RPM, so why they rate redline at 6750 baffles me. Massive torque band for a 101mm stroker. The engine also makes 500WHP on stock internals, an SR can make roughly 420WHP on stock internals, and the halfwieghted KA makes about 380WHP on stock internals. So the crank does help with power output although it isn't making a lot of rev with it's huge stroke.http://videos.streetfire.net/v...D.htmh ... m/....aspx

This turbo magazine article confuses the piss out of me. They keep calling it a 2.0 liter, but in every pic they show it's a 2.4 liter engine. Per bolt on and mod it makes pretty good numbers.http://www.turbomagazine.com/t....html

Any hoo, I would think the KA24de is better in comparison to the K24a Honda engine. K24a has a 99mm stroke, 87mm bore (fully counterweighted) @ 2354cc's, and can make power up to 7000RPM.Ka24de at 96mm stroke and a 89 mm bore has 2389cc's.I think these 2 engines would be better in comparison than the Dodge engine.

Spoke with Brian Crower personally at yesterdays Formula Drift @ infinion raceway. He will too be selling a stock stroke (96mm) fully counterweighted crank for $1800. AMS has a deal I wouldn't pass this up.I also asked Brian if his stroker kit has been dyno tested, his company doesn't even have an engine ready with that kit yet for results. When I asked about the redline of the stroker kit it should redline somewhere to what the srt 4 engine red lines. SRT 4 stroke is 101mm, the KA24de stroker kit would be 102mm stroke. Just some info directly from the source.
