I have searched and did not find what I was looking for and I posted a simalar question in another forum with no response, so I thought I would try here.

Our KA24E appears to be suffering from a lack of engine block grounding. We realised that we only have one engine ground.

Two wires come from hte negitive terminal and one connects to the body and the other is connected to the intake manifold.

While at the junkyard the other day we found that we should have a ground going from the head to the firewall.

Are there any other grounds that we should add? And could this lack of grounding cause symptoms that act like a bad MAF when the MAF itself is ok?

How are your engines grounded?

im not for shure..but you must have that ground at the firewall for most of the equipment to work properly..

head to firewall(small braided wire)

body to intake mani(decently thick gauge)

fuse box to body(black wire)

unless you've got into the harness there should also be two coming from the harness(grounded usually to the head, but can be put anywhere)

And I think there's one or two more but those are the essentials I know of off the top of my head.

Thanks to all for the responses.

Yes we do have the ground that go to the front of the head that come out of the harness that goes to the distributor.

The one we did not have was from the head to the firewall.

Any other sugestions/comments?
