Picked it up off a guy who makes them for $25, which is a good bit cheaper than most of the "brand name" ones.
Likes:Good looking kit (smoked insulation); blends in so it's not gaudyThick, quality wireGold-plated ring landsEase of install
Dislikes:The fact that the grounds suck on Sentras to begin with
Install/Cosmetics:Install was very easy. I took my time and thought about how to route the wires and all that. Did it in 45min or so, most of that spent figuring out exactly what ground locations to use. I may make some adjustments after doing more research on them.
It's very unobtrusive in the engine bay with the smoked color, which is good. I hate seeing bright wires running everywhere.
Driving:Startup was already very strong thanks to replacing the battery and the terminal links with more robust ones several months ago.
Idle is a bit more solid when it's not jumping around (more on that later).
Seems to pull a tiny bit stronger past 5500 or so. It used to noticeably die off at 6250, now it seems to go hard all the way to redline at 6750. It's a minuscule difference and could just be that the engine was having a good day or simply a placebo effect, but we'll see. My buddy also said it sounded stronger.
Electrics seem to be a bit stronger, though really I won't have a full idea til I run the AC (it was cool out tonight). The lights are really the only thing that I ever had an issue with, and it was a slight dimming when the AC kicked over or when the idle got jumpy, so it's tough to say.
None of my other issues seem to be fixed. I wasn't expecting them to, but figured it couldn't hurt. We'll see next time I fill-up with gas if the extra grounding helps with the idle issues after fill-up. This is where I may look around and check to see if I can move one of the grounds on the back of the engine. I guess I'll round out my review with how I set up the kit.
Setup:Negative battery terminal -> stock strut tower ground (on the front of the driver's tower)Thermostat housing -> stock strut tower groundRear of intake mani -> strut tower (X2, so both sides)Alternator bracket -> strut tower (passenger side)
Final Thoughts:All in all, I'm definitely still a skeptic of grounding kits. I can't say I'd do it again, but I don't regret it. For $25, you could do worse.
