So I decided to make my own "20hp" grounding kit today because the stock ground was pretty much rusted through at the battery tray. Anyway, I got 4 gauge wire running to the intake manifold, head, valve cover, 3 places on the chassis and was wondering where I should put the alternator one. Would it be o.k. to put on the mounting nut on the front of the alternator? The stock alternator ground bolt is tiny and I would probably have to use a washer or something and I don't want to get under the car in the rain. Redtop SR20 BTW. Thanks in advance

I think that would be fine. I don't sound very confident do I? The block is a great ground, especially after you put the fatty wires on. I would do it the way you describe to my own car.

I just bought ground straps and put one on valve cover, alternator and block. I believe most anywhere on the alternator will work.
