Hey it seems to me to be a dumb question but... I keep hearin things about having a bad ground. Now does that mean to replace the ground wire that connects to your battery? Or replace some ground wire somewhere else. I hear " You might have a bad ground" but it never says anything specific. Answering this could help me or hopefully anyone as uncertain as me.

There are quite a few ground (or negative polarity wires) that simply "ground" or connect to the chassis of the car.

Since the negative terminal of the batter also connects to the chassis of the car... the whole chassis in effect turns into a negative terminal.

So lots of things will "ground" to the car itself.

Custom audio jobs are notorious for simply finding a screw hole somewhere in the trunk and connecting to it...

Do you have a specific part of your car that is shorting or causing you trouble... or is this just a general question?
