I'm installing a new headunit into my car. Right now, I'm stuck on where to ground the headunit. Does anyone have any suggestions on where a good place to ground the headunit may be?

You don't want to use the factory ground(chassis)?

I know there is the factory ground, but I bought a custom harness so I wouldn't have to cut any of the wires. Unfortunately, the harness does not also include a wire for the ground and my head unit harness has one of those connections that you put under a screw. I can't find any screw that I could put under it.

The bolts that hold the HU up should do just fine.

Yeah, that is what I tried out and the headunit worked fine. Now, I have another problem. I'm using an antenna adapter so my headunit can use antenna on the car. But, the reception is much worse than the stock headunit. What could possibly be the problem to this. Also, the antenna adapter that I received had the plugin that the old headunit uses and splits into two wires, one that plugs into the new headunit and a blue wire. What is the blue wire for?

You could do that, but I don't recommend it, as it is not a strong ground, and not good for the HU as there will be more resistance. Look for a screw that goes straight to a piece of metal, what I had done was run 14 gauge wire down below the driver side steering wheel and grabbed my ground there (can't remember exactly where off the top of my head) but I highly recommend you getting a strong ground for your HU.

the blue wire is the ant. turn on lead, it connects to your new HU, and provides a + signal when you have your FM/AM on, which powers the antenna to receive a stronger signal, hook that up and you will be set.

I have a turn on control terminal, but it has a funny connection on the end of it. Do I have to cut this wire and connect it? Also, I was planning on eventually installing an amp and new speakers. Would I have to make both connections to this wire (for the remote on)?

there are two separate remote ons, one is for the amp (solid blue) and another for the antenna remote (blue with white stripe)

I'm currently using a pioneer deh-p6900ub and there is only a blue/white stripe wire. It says it is used to "connect to the system control terminal of the power amp or auto-antenna relay control terminal."

So the blue/white should be used for the antenna only? On the wire diagram, it shows the blue/white wire going to the amps.

yea, you can use that for the ant turn on, but when you add an amp, you will need to add a relay to that wire.

I haven't read any of the post above, but when I installed my H/U, there is a plastic piece beside the gas pedal you can pop off revealing a couple screws and some more metal pieces. I used one of the screws from there to ground.
