Thought I'd share a cool piece of hardware I discovered on an Audi A4. They're spring-loaded hooks that mount to the top of the trunk so you can hang shopping bags, etc.

I picked them up off eBay for $10 each. They come with 5mm screws and speed clips. But there isn't really any convinient way to use the speed clips, so I picked up some 5MM rivnuts and drilled 3 holes to mount. There was an existing 6mm threaded hole already in place I used for the fourth bolt.

Wow, that's actually pretty sweet. I know I'm always looking at my trunk trying to figure out the best placement for each bag lol.

Hmmm, not sure. I mean each one has two hook ends but I have no idea what sort of capacity they're rated for.

If anyone decides to weight test, please post back. I'm guessing a 40lb test would be more than enough.

I've swung a bag with 4 bottles of wine on one. I guess if you really wanted to carry heavy loads you could bump up the fasteners to 6 mm?

Sold my Sedan along with the grocery bag holders.

Bought a Coupe and the trunk is too shallow!
