grinding when startup

Hey guys, I finally got my first 240 the other day, but im having some problems when i start it. I searched for this topic, but all of them were, when engine is cold, when backing up etc... but when i start the car, it doesnt matter if the engine is cold or not, but it grinds really bad and really loud for about 1 second. my first guess was that it had something to do with the clutch because the guy i bought it from replaced the clutch because he burnt the stock one up. does anyone know what this is?? please help! thanks guys!

I just got my 1st 1990 s13 and it does the same thing, but quiets once I press the clutch, the guy I bought it from said the throwout bearing needs repaced. hope it helps

Does it grind while the starter is engaged?
