Grinding noise while braking

I just turned the rotors and put new pads on.The front end makes a grinding sound when I apply the brakes an little harder than average.

wheel bearing nut not tight enough?

I will try that tonight, thanks.But it sounds more like metal on metal.Could a worn out strut make that noise?

I tightened the locking washer one more notch on each side.It seems to have done the trick.I also removed the strut dust boot, since they were just flopping around,dried out from old age.Thanks for your advise, just a step I missed.
