grinding noise when backing up

i saw someones post that was a little like the problem i have but i still have the stock diff. when i back up slowly i hear a grinding noise coming form the back, it dosnt do it when i go forward, my last 240 did it too, but not as bad as this i was thinking it was the wheel bearing, but has anyone has this problem ?

most likely your rear brakes, mine does it too. Not quite sure why it happens

yeah me to i think it's just a stuck caliper. like it locks up a little bit

Take your rear calpiers off and grease the slide pins really good. Probem solved!

i just got brand new brakes, did it before and still does it now.

check your rear suspension, my car was left on the passanger side rear tire(the front driver side was up because i was rebuilding the engine), it was left in that state for sometime and so my rear passanger side shock blew up, the car makes this grinding sound when backing up but it drives normal when goin forward.

the car was fine before i jacked up the car to take out the engine.

mine did that. turned out to be the strut was shot. had to replace the strut and upper mounting plate. that is what was making the noise, the upper mount.

yea my just blew to when i swaped my motor cause the front was jacked up for a couple days same nosie in reverse
