Grinding Noise?

I drive a 92 with a ka24de in it and between 2800 and 3200rpms my car makes a kinda rattle/grinding noise. Is it just me or has anyone else experience this problem? Please get back to me and tell me what it might be please.

What part of the car is the noise comming from? Is it a rattle or a grinding?is it in gear when it makes the noise?

Need more information.

Buddy says it sounds like grinding and we think it's from the headers but not too sure...

Still not enough information to go on but I wil try anyway.

Check your timing chain and guides.

Ok well basically, the car runs fine. When i'm driving down the street or I just rev the engine, when it get up to around 3000rpm it starts making a sort of grinding sound. It sounds like it's comming from the front of the car, maybe headers. I don't have to be in gear for the sound to occur. Even when i'm driving on the streets and i'm reving like 4000rpms and i take it out of gear to slow down, once it gets to 3000 it'll make the grinding noise and then stop after 2800. But i'll check the timing chain when I get a chance. Thank you.

If it is a rattling on your exhaust manifold - check the heat sheild, or just take it off.

If it is a "grinding" check the timing chain and guides as stated.

it is the throw out bearing...they make noise if slave sucks butt or it is going out

turned out to be the heat shield... haven't done anything about it yet...
