I have a 94 q45, with 156,000 miles on it. There is a grinding noise in the front near the fan. i think its one of the belts, but i'm not too sure. just wanted a second opinion. also, i can feel a loss off power from when i first got it at 132,000. Its takes a long time to get in 2nd gear, and at the transision, i get a jerk. I checked the Maf and i cleaned the throttle chamber yesterday. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

FWIW I think PopPop is in your area, and you might hit him up he might be able to look at the car for you.

Just so you know the car starts in 2nd gear, unless you manually downshift to 1st..

If you havent replaced the belts id check it. Maybe your water pump is going bad? Normally they leak when they are going bad... It could also bea tensioner getting ready to fail, and you dont want one of those to seize on you.

If I were you id replace the belts and check the tensioners. Roll the tensioners and if the belts arent perfectly smooth then replace the bearings.

Have all the pulleys on hand too. And repalce all belts at once so you won't have to do the same labor over again sooner than necessary.

Make sure your Idler pulley bearings haven't seized and the AC compressor as well. Compressors have seized in the past.. Also the fan may be hitting the plastic guard or a hose up there..
