Alright, just so everyone knows I feel like a COMPLETE NEWB for asking this and i did read around and didn't find anything...

I just had my clutch replaced for a Competition Clutch and it is touchy as hell, but thats not the problem. I was driving it back from the shop and i was on the highway (the shop is like an hour from me) I was in fifth gear and i was slowing down, so i pressed in the clutch and i got this bad grinding sound. I disengaged it and it stopped. As I got off the highway I got to the bottom of the off ramp and had to go into first gear. It didn't want to do any gears without grinding even with the clutch COMPLETELY engaged to the floor. Needless to say, I had to go drive and it would grind until the car was totally driving...

I think the clutch is not fully disengaging? how do i fix that?

did they lube the throwout bearing? the grinding isnt occuring during shifting, but during disengagement, when the bearing contacts the clutch, right?

it is doing it all the time. I am almost positive its just not fully disengaging.it only does it when I try to engage any gear its grinding. not when I press the clutch and its in neutral. I have to shove it into gear (while its grinding) then try to get it to drive (while its grinding).is there a place on the clutch pedal I can tighten the cluth cable to pull on the clutch more or something?

please excuse me I know nothing about transmissions or clutches...

i would bleed the clutch a little more to make sure air is out of the system. and yes there is an adjustment for pedal free play just above the pedal.

what kind of transmission fluid are you using?

It grinds in every gear when i try to put it into gear. no specific gear at all, its all of them. I seriously think its just not disengaging all the way. b/c when i depress the clutch and try o put it into gear, it grinds when i move the shifter into any gear the same as it would on any car if you don't have the clutch pedal pressed in all the way

I honestly don't believe that its any bearing. I really think that the clutch pedal is not disengaging the clutch fully.

Is there anyway to tighten that up?

Did you do it or did you have a shop do it?

I just had this problem on mine. Check the clutch slave cylinder boot for fluid. if their is none than it is probably your clutch master cylinder. Both of mine where bad. took like 2 hours with a beer break.

try bleeding the clutch & trying to adjust the pedal first. if that doesnt help then read below.

if that doesnt help then i would say your clutch pivot ball is broken(happens esp when you go with a clutch that needs more strength to operate). gotta drop the trans to replace it. if you do replace it, get a nismo one, its stronger than oem.if you knew how to rev match, you wouldnt have had a problem getting it into gears without the clutch.
