Damn, why does the engine have to be so damn quiet. This is the second time I did it. :facepalm2

Oh, the humanity!

Haha nice one. I'm pretty paranoid about grinding my engine, so sometimes it takes me 2-3 times before my Rogue is started :)

It would be great if car manufactures would design a circuit to sense when the engine is running and disable the starter...maybe even an emergency bypass for if it fails?...it seems it would be very easy and cheap?....and yes, that's why you should always look at the tach 1st.......Being my 1st new car I have been wondering for awhile if the rogue might have this anti-grind technology .....but obviously never wanted to check.....thanks for answering this for me...

Volkswagen had a feature that required you to turn the ignition key to the full OFF position before you could attempt a re-start.

A VW Golf I learned to drive stick shift on had this feature... nothing worse than stalling at an intersection then frantically trying to restart the motor. It took me 1-2 minutes and I was the recipient of much horn honking from disgruntled motorists before I figured out I needed to turn the key back to OFF before restarting. :slap:
