ok.. this is what happened. I have open diff. and I went to practice slide tonight.

I was going around 45.. second gear.. I pulled hand brake, car started to slide. I counter steer. untill I reach the limit of countersteering. my car made this loud grinding noise. the noise seemed from the back of my car(wheels). dont know which side. I stop the car. tried again.. same thing happened. But when I not counter steer. it didn't make grinding noise..

please help.. Thanks

loud grinding noise? depends how it sounds. a lot of times the tires rub the black guards under the fenders. i remember before whenever i made a wide turn my front right wheel always rubbed my hanging black guard. i don't know what they're called.

theyre called fender liners hehe theyre could be a number of things grinding but more then likely it is the wheels rubbing the liners, try checking them to see if there is any sign of them hitting the tires, its not necessarily a bad thing but i imagine it is annoying and would cause you to worry but try looking around the car to see what could be causing it. also do you have a lot of body roll when drifting?

not much body roll. I have coilovers. and lowered only 1.75 " all corneres.

this reallie make me worried. my friend told me it could be the axle.

im pretty sure when you hit the maximum steering angle created by the steering rack, the rack sorta grinds, mine used to do that when i first drifted and just let go of the steering wheel and let the rack lock real hard
