Grille Swap - Is i35 Grille a direct fit to i30?

Can a grille like this:

be put in to my 2001 i30 that has a grille like this:





If so, what years of the i35 grille can I get that will be a direct fit? I think the grille on my i30 looks ugly but the i35s look so much cleaner. Thanks in advance!

Any model year I35 has the same A33 body-chassis as the 01 I30, the difference being a larger engine, better brakes, suspension, etc. The grilles should be interchangeable. But be sure to check with the supplier before buying.

I'm pretty sure that the grilles are interchangable. There are a few guys on other forums with I35 grilles in their I30's.

This is good news. I just think the i30 grille is less than attractive. Now I just have to find an i35 grille, ha. Rockauto seems to have one w/o the emblem for 35$, but this seems too good to be true...

Infinitipartsusa has the O.E.M grille and emblem for just under $200. If you really want one, that is the route I'd go. At least you know it's original and will bolt right on out of the box.

Thanks Markc, I'm going to order one tonight. Every time I see an i35, it's the grille that always makes me "attracted" to it. haha.

My biased opinion would have to agree that the horizontal fins look much better than the vertical ones.

O.E.M is also plastic. But it has that "space age" chrome on it.
