Ok, the other day I was on cardomain.com and saw a J30 with a nice grille (all silver with an Infiniti emblem). I tried contacting him, but he never replied.

I want to know if any other people have the same grille or any cusotm grille on your J30s? Where can I get one from? How much would it be?

I read another post about the grille on a QX4 I think and I think Mayhem suggested making your own grille. If that is the case, can you or some one tell me who to make one? Would it look nice on the J30? I have a gold trim on my J, so will that matter?

Thanks for your time and replies.

Take care and good luck. Later...

I've seen one J30 on Ebay with a mesh grill the owner made himself. Looked nice IMO. The Japanese J30's (leopard j. ferie) had a different styling. Most likely because the infiniti symbo isn't utilized. I personally like the stock grill, but if you want go ahead and just make your own. Shouldn't be hard to fit. What's the address for the J30 on cardomain?

i assume youre talking about this J. http://www.cardomain.com/membe...20J30 Well all you have to do is go to homedepot and buy some metal mesh type stuff and something to coat it so it doesnt rust or wear off. Then just place it over and trace along the edges and cut it out until it fits in perfect. I did it with some plastic mesh and it looks ok but when i get out to home depot I will get something harder and replace the one on there now.

Exactly! Definately paint the mesh as it'll most likely rust on you over night. Trust me, I made a pig smoker out of the stuff.

or you can just get the aluminum grille guard stuff for gutters from home depot.

this is what i used to mesh in the lower grille opening. its been on there for over a year, no oxidation, and no rust (because its not an iron-based alloy!)

Well yeah if it's aluminum..:pface I would paint it black anyway. I think that would look best.

What color would look nice on mine? I will show you pics of my car in 1-2 days. My car is gold/beige.

thanks for the compliments. and thanks to Tonyvq for searching all night to host the damn pic.

Omar, I think a silver would look good with the gold/beige combo...unless you have the gold package in which case I would go with black again. (never did like the gold package)

Mayhem, nice car, but I've already seen the same picture four times in this post alone. What's the point?

If it's linked, then true. It just wastes screen space. I would rather go to the member's rides section to see all the pictures of your car than see the same picture every time since there is nothing new in the signature picture. Now if you could change views each time....

Look around and you'll notice few on the Infiniti General Forum post redundant pictures in their signatures. Most of us know what a Q, J, or I looks like. If we want to see a particular ownder's car, we know where to look.

Maybe it helps you find your car in the lot?

I'm quite aware that few in the Infiniti section have pics in their sigs. I figured that was why you were confused at first about the pic anyway. But if you were to cruise around the forum outside of the Infiniti world you'll see that many members have pics in their sigs and I'm also not the only mod with it. This is standard on almost all car forums I am a member of.

BTW, I would never take my J30 to a crowded parking lot, that's what the beater is for.

I don't find it a bother when browsing the posts, besides the fact if I were a new member I'd see right away how nice a ride Mayhem has. Love those wheels BTW.

Oh I do, and I understand that when your car represents 95% of your net worth, one is very proud of it. But this is not the Hyundai, Civic, of even 240SX forum. The few younger people here who own an Infiniti don't seem to require a visual reminder of it everytime they post. Why is that?

For a moment consider if all other members did the same. What a series of repititive nonsense we would be subjecting each other to! I could include both my Q's, and I still enjoy my Legend, and my wife's Contour SE is neat, then there is the classic BMW 2800CS, and the 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV, and my pre-K1 Honda 750, and I am real fond of my Honda commercial mower...well, I think the point is no one would want to see any of these images multiple times in the same thread, let alone the same forum, no matter how proud I am of their appearance.

But if it reassures you, please post away so you can remember what your ride looks like.

You're the only one to speak of it so far.

Alrighty then. Due to the fact that usually when I see my car it's under a car cover and combined with the fact that I do heavy weekend partying :alcoholic I do need a reminder of what my car looks like. Sometimes I need a remeinder of where I live.

Hey that's a good idea Mayhem, maybe I'll start posting a pic of the front of my house in my sig and eventually I'll remember how to get back to it on the weekends.

Oh and btw if you don't want to see their sig's it is a simple option to turn off.
