I was thinking about painting the two chome pieces of the grille to match the color of the my coupe. Is the any way to just remove those pieces from the car, or would i have to remove the whole grille. if so how would i go about doing so?

Thanks in advance

They're clipped onto the grille. I took my bumper off to do it, and it took some work, they're clipped on there pretty well. I'd recommend taking of the bumper to remove them.

Be Sure to post some pics when its done. I am waiting for something nice to come out. Just a plain Mesh grill that is paint to match. Everything I have seen so far either has chrome on it or is attached to a new bumper(Stillen) or custom job.

I've painted mine if that's what you're talking about:

Sorry, not much help there. I took them off and had the shop paint them because they had to fix a dent. They painted the chrome on the grille and my side view mirrors with turn signals free (not installed here).

You might have luck taking it around to shops to have them paint it. If you go that route, have them do something else you want done at the same time as the majority of your cost will be paint.

Yes you can remove them without taking off the bumper. PATIENT is the key here... gotta take your time. Use a flat head screwdriver and a towel to wrap around the end of the screwdriver to avoid scratches. Took about 10-15 min. per...

That DOES look good. Even makes the Grill look better.

There's a whole lotta white now... might even help to put the front plate on...

Wonder what SHIFT was thinkin' with that chrome moustache?

Probably would look OK if the whole grill surround was chromed..

Now, if we can just fit the Sedan grill everything will be cool...

Here is mine in all black, it took me a few minutes to pry each chrome part off. I used Fusion spray paint for plastic and then clear coat, people can not tell that it was not like that from the facotry

The chrome pieces have 4 or 5 pieces that slide into the grill. If you take a flat head screw you can insert it at the top of the chrome and between the grill which is not painted but colored plastic and the chrom mustache. I just twisted the screw driver and it slide out slowly and then used my fuingers to pull it out the rest of the way. As stated before, you could wrap the screw driver with a rag to prevent any chance of scratches, i did not do this and did not scratch anything. I hope this helps, i can post pictures of what i am talking about if you need them

Someone sure can, I'm not much in the graphic design department. Those aren't overlays, I sent my lights out to have the silver plastic on the inside painted black along with the running lights painted black (you can still see them in orange at night though)

Thanks, I like it. I just can't wait for a decent grill option to come out to get rid of the honeycomb

Check the stickies of everyone's rides in general there are a few people who painted the chrome, I THINK there are some pics in there of them, possibly in black.

Just got the plastic pieces off today. I took a few pictures for those who havent done it yet but are planning on it. The key to all of this is patience. Basically what I did was take a screw driver and put it between the chrome piece and the grill at the far side(In other words, the thinnest part of the chrome piece and twist it till i heard popping sounds. I kept doing tha tall the way down the chrome piece, so when i was at the bottom there was about a good 1/3 to 1/2 of an inch between the chrome piece and the grill itself

I kept doing that all the way down the chrome piece, so when i was at the bottom there was about a good 1/3 to 1/2 of an inch between the chrome piece and the actual grill itself.

The important thing to know, which I didnt when I took the first one off, is that there are actual clips on the inside of the chrome piece (see picture)As I said before when I was just taking a screw driver and turning it till the entire thing was out about 1/2 inch, I'm guessing the popping sounds I was hearing was those 7 clips inside the piece that you cant see unclasping themselves. (once it was out a bit it was easy to see the 4 clips on the top).

Overall not too bad, just patience is the key.

Id really love to see what the chrome pieces look like painted on some different colored cars, i have mine done but my car is black, and ive seen it on a white car. It would be awesome to see it on a blue or red, or silver, ect. coupe! It definitely gives the front a better look in my opinion, no more out of place chrome.
