grill on the 07s

just checking to see if any 07 owners are having problems wit the grill chipping i only have 2500 miles on her and the grill looks like it was in a war.... anyway the dealer is putting a new 1 on today

No problem here. I have an 07' Coupe with only 2500 mi. as well. Nothing so far. What a drag!

I think it only does for the 07 sedans I had my grille replaced 2-3 months ago since that no problem. Now I have about 7k miles no problem.

Did you get your grille replaced for free by the dealer or did you have to pay for it? They're expensive to replace! About $220!

Yeah,

IT WAS FREE UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ASKED ME IF i HAVE PAINT CHIPPING AROUND IT. I DID NOT HAVE ANY PAINT CHIPPING. SO THAT WAS PRETTY OBVIOUS THE GRILLE WAS NOT UP TO THE STANDARD.

Could you develop this more? Paint chipping all out on the grill = free exchange?

They asked the question from me if I see any paint chipping around the grille on the actual paint. Because if I saw some that wouldn't be under warranty than. They would of say I drove the car on a ****ty road or just follow cars too close or something like that. Since I had no problem at all other than the grille. It was obvious the grille had bad plating. I had on the grille about 600-700 chipped spot in less then 1500 miles. It looked pretty bad. Maybe just the cold weather or it was just chipping because of the thin coat of plating i don't know.

Anyways the new they put on is perfect no chipping. They said it is not from Japan it was from North America. So the replacement is from different source than the original. If it happenes again I'd just take it to the paint shop and paint it obsidian black to match the car than put a clear bra on it. Leave the infiniti sign chromed.

i have 10000 miles on my 07 g35x and same thing, did they give you any **** when you complained??

I had no problem with them. They were helpful. Now it should be a lot easier because they know this is their fault. I was one of the first one with this conplain. I actually talk to somebody from the infiniti headquarter he called me. He told me it is most likely comming from the stupid plating on the grill not being strong enough or did not clean the grille before plating. With the replacement there is no issue at all.

Had it on my 07 and got it replaced, don't have it on the 08 cuz theres a diff grille in place.
