I spent about an hour on it. The types of races you can do are awsome, but when it comes to driving I think the game blows. Maybe I'm spoiled by GT5P. GRID is way too floaty and the driving capabilities of the cars seem quite unrealistic. The last thing I did before I put the game away was the Le Mans and used the Audi R10 TDI (which I think is awsome that it's in the game). However between using the map and just looking at the driving, you can'ttell when the hell a corner is coming up unless there's some yellow arrows showing the turn. At least in GT5 you can see the turn coming and prepare yourself for it. In GRID half the turns seem to be blind ones that come suddenly. Then it seems like it's too drift friendly as well as every turn seems loose.
The guy at gamestop that bought it from actually told me everything I just said before I bought it, but he's got a very different taste in games than I do so I usually don't go by his word. But this time he was spot on.
So basically I'm saying, if you're the sim type of person, stick to GT5P or Forza. If you want a wannabe sim that faily miserably at being a sim, but can be fun if you can work through the frustration of dealing with the floaty steering, then GRID might be for you. Personally, I give it a D. I'd say a C, but because of the fact that GT5P came out first and didn't give the option of modifying cars by actually buying parts and adding them on, GRID had every chance to blow GT5P out of the water by doing everything GT5P didn't do. But they failed to execute. So they get a D from me. I'm taking my copy back and getting something else.
