1993 240sx hatch.
I have 15-way adjustable coilovers and for some weird reason the rear passenger dampening setting gets changed by itself. I followed the manual which says to turn all the way to clockwise (full stiff) and then just counter clockwise from there to adjust the dampening.
I initially set all 4 to 8/15 dampening, but a month later I wanted to increase the rears to 10. When adjusting the rears to 10, I noticed the rear passenger somehow got set to 1/15. I thought I maybe I had gotten Clockwise and Counter-clockwise mixed during the initial settings weeks before, so I just set the rears to 10. I observed the settings for a week and didn't notice a change and eventually forgot about it. Another month goes by and today i notice the setting got changed to 5/15, while the other 3 were not affected at all.
The only possible thing that I can think off is that the adjustment knob is rubbing on the interior trunk panel. The knob has raised bumps all around the sides for added friction to make it easy to turn. Therefore I think the vibrations from daily driving are slowly turning the adjustment knob counter-clock wise.
Anyone ever run into this problem?
I'm think I might cut out the part of the interior trunk panel that is rubbing on the knob.
