hello everyone, my name is Tony and I live in Arkansas. I have a 1993 Nissan 300zx that I recently got. I traditionally have been a Honda Guy but wanted a 300 for a while to restore. Anyway with my 300 I have a few issues. One is that my door lights and stuff do not come on when I open door, they only work once I put key in and turn over acc??? Second is my a/c seems to blow o fuse by my battery everytime I turn it on. The whole car dies once this happens and I have to replace fuse. Third is for some reason the door locks are sensitive, I have three keys 2 grey one red and when the doors lock my keys don't unlock it. I have to go through the hatch. Maybe im wording my searches wrong but have only found info on the a/c and not much on it  any help would be appreciated. also if anyone knows any shops around Arkansas that knows anything about our cars lol.

The door locks and lighting both have wiring in the doors.
Maybe someone messed around with the wiring and shorted the circuits? Possibly while replacing speakers?
That's where I would start searching.

Tried that first. Didnt think it 2oulda been the problem and it wasnt. Everything works fine when I turn key and everything is also reset. Clock radio all of it. If that helps any. The door locks work electrically just not with key.

Do you have an aftermarket stereo? if so was the car a bose car stock. there are some wires behind the HU, if hooked up incorrectly will play a bit of havoc with your lights. Get the wiring diagrams from the FSM and trace everything.

Fixed the issue with clock and all that. Now to just figure out why none of my keys lock or unlock my doors and the ac blowing fuses issues. My keys go in the holes and turn both ways they just dont work the locks. They all work fine in t tops and hatch though. Almost feels as if the locks are not hooked up. Time to remove my door panels and dig in.

The VG in NA form produces a raspy sound, this is why you need to have a resonated system, best thing for you to do is check the sound clips on youtube, lots of guys have sound clips of different setups. If the funds allow I would definitely go with something from SZ, they are awesome! :rotfl

For the door locks, this is what you need, just the drivers(left side):

Stock are plastic and known to break, located around the door lock/handle mechanism. Seen once interior panel is removed.
