Most parts for the 2011 also fit the 2012, however I would simply call the manufacturer to confirm. The only real changes in design from 2008 to present have been body componentsNinjaBall wrote:The 2012 is the same car as the 2011? Having a hard time finding squat for a '12 but a ton for the '11.
I run 19s on 245/40 tires. The ride is a little rough since our OEM overall diameter is 26.3", Im only getting about 1.7" of sidewall (if I remember correctly, I did all the calculations a long time ago). Seems like you are a speed junkie, are you an autocross or drag guy?NinjaBall wrote:Not sure if these large looking flat sided wheel wells run 18's or 19's better. I am thinking 19's but what size tire are you running.
Im not sure that there is a specific kit for the AC. A few members here are boosted, Im sure they will chime in with their builds.NinjaBall wrote:Whom makes a turbo kit or supercharger for the 2.5? This will be the first mod to the car.
Id again wait for some of the members whom are boosted to chime in. However, good luck with that 500 whp man. I assume you are driving a MT? CVT will not handle that much boost, I highly doubt you will get a 2.5 MT over 400 whp.NinjaBall wrote:What is the best web stores to get all the mods and supporting mods for 500 whp on a 2.5?

I feel ya'.... LOLOL. I really only dislike the Honda hoopties. They are usually the ones that give the jap rides a bad name. I am a speed freak and don't really care what make it is as long as it is tastefully done. I'm stuck with the turd transmission.wade001 wrote:Welcome..
Just because the car is japanese doesnt make it a ricer, what you do determins that
! Like previously asked, did you get the CVT or 6spd? that is the biggest determining factor for modding the Altima because the CVT is a weak transmission. There is no supercharger(non yet) or direct turbo but you can do it like other members have. mechanical parts i believe are the same between 08-12, just body changes. Wheels are a personal thing, but a lot of people like 19's with the 245/40 tires. Theres some real cool stuff for our car, trust me, you will have fun. And we'll be here to help
To be quite honest, I like the CVT better than most other automatic transmissions, especially the shiftable transmissions I've run into.NinjaBall wrote:I'm stuck with the turd transmission.
I am a big horse power guy and I know that I would be able to get more out of my lil motor with the M/T, that's all really. I have only had the car 2 weeks now and really haven't had the chance to go out and play hard with the car. Seems to me though that the manual option on that thing is something you surely need to get used to to be quick with it.IBCoupe wrote:To be quite honest, I like the CVT better than most other automatic transmissions, especially the shiftable transmissions I've run into.NinjaBall wrote:I'm stuck with the turd transmission.
lol, stay away from them, they've been flamed so many times here. just look it up on here and grab a bag of popcornfunkee wrote:The CVT shaves seconds off your times, because it does not shift at all. It doesn't feel as fast, but it makes a significant difference.
You can get a turbo from here for the 2.5L. It generates about 295WHP: http://speedforceracing.com/index.php?productID=1034
I dont think you can get into the range you're talking about with a 2.5 CVT. You might be able to get somewhere close with the 3.5 CVT.
I'm listening!wade001 wrote: there are things you can do to improve the CVT for higher power as well.
That's almost certainly the turbo the OP said he was reading. Claims of hp are hard to believe when they dont specify if its for MT or CVT.wade001 wrote:lol, stay away from them, they've been flamed so many times here. just look it up on here and grab a bag of popcornfunkee wrote:The CVT shaves seconds off your times, because it does not shift at all. There is QR25DE, he built it from ebay parts a while back and did a build thread, spent like 2G's, not bad huh? there are things you can do to improve the CVT for higher power as well.
The problems seem to stem from the ROMs themselves. I remember a thread for a 07 sedan. UpRev claimed to have a ROM for him, and he only learned that they didn't when it failed to flash properly.wade001 wrote:if there were problems with uprev, it most likely is the person that tuned it. speedforce is one of those B.S tuner companies that misleads people. I'm quite sure both their turbo and intake manifold were flamed for false advertising on here, along with other stories.
We got you covered on the body kits! Check outNinjaBall wrote:Yes, that is the website I had found and could not find again that peaked my interest into high HP 2.5 coupes. Thanks but yes I do plan on doing my homework before any major work or tuning is done. Only the best went on my GTO, only the best built it and only the best tuned it. I have some time cuz I can't really do anything due to my warranty. So I am just going to start easy and do wheels, body kit and window tint first. Then I am going to sweet talk the techs in allowing me to drop in the coil overs and still maintain my warranty.
I am not much of a quarter mile guy as stated before but I do want to tangle with the worthy cars on the freeway with higher speed roll-ons. If I want to beat your a** on the 1/4 mile I will just get on my 9 second crotch rocket. lolol
LOL, it was explained why in one of my earlier ramblings. It was a regretful decision, I admit...BUT, I had a plan and now the plan is backfiring a bit now that I am into this new car. If I do wind up keeping the car long term, I do plan to spend what ever I need to, to get what I want out of this car. I will never see the power and torque that I had in my goat but I would just be happy with whatever I can get out of it.Blake@STILLEN wrote: We got you covered on the body kits! Check out

I guess I'm at a bit of a loss when I try to understand you going from a big whp Goat to a 2.5, wanting to make the same kind of power? Although the Altima is a fantastic car, it's not exactly designed for huge power. There is some truth to the term, "there's no replacement for displacement". I'm not sure how much money you'll have to spend to make even over 350whp, not to mention the price of having a built motor, trans and diff.
With that said, welcome to the boards!
I am in agreement. I was just mentioning today that save a little bit up now then when I get back from my next tour to the middle east, Just pay cash for the 06 GTO I want to replace my 04 with. Keep the Coupe as my DD. BUT I just found out that the car lot knows I am unhappy and are trying to put me in a 3.5 SR BUT the only color they have is the Crimson Black which is red metal flake when the sun hits it. Not sure I like it. Plus I think it too has the CVT. I told them I want white with the red leather and the 6 spd short shifter and Nav. I do believe they are unwilling to cooperate in getting me what I want.Ranga14 wrote:Yeah, just focus on the looks and handling and find another car for your power needs. You can't really do anything with a 2.5 CVT.

Don't settle for the CVT if you're wanting to do serious performance mods, even with the 3.5. Even if they're unable to make you a deal, at least you'll have a sexy DD that will turn heads once you have all the aesthetic work done.NinjaBall wrote:I am in agreement.
