Hello,

I am new to the boards. Just traded in my '04 FX35 (59k miles) yesterday. I was lucky to find a '08 M35x w Tech package that had just come off a promo lease. It only had 3500 miles on it. Sticker was amost $51k & I got in for $35k. Decent price @ 30% off sticker but I was more happy to get out of the problems I was starting to experience w my FX. It was a sloid car for 4 yrs but I am not a big fan of having a car w/o a warranty.

Anyhow, I read Consumer Reports & put a lot of weight into their ratings; They have yet to steer me wrong. My 1st impressions of the car are very positive. Love the luxury & everything is fairly simple to use from the bluetooth to the iPod to the Nav.

Finally, the intriguing part of the purchase was the fact the dealer told me this was Ben Roethlisberger's promo lease. He had this car & also a Hummer from that dealership. The dealer is getting me a copy of the initial lease agreement that verified it was actually his car. Pretty cool in fact being a STEELERS fan my entire life.

Brad

If it's true then you'll be able to cheat during the Superbowl and not get called on it.

Just kidding, just kidding. Congrats on the car. How does driving the M compare to the FX? I had one as a loaner car for two weeks and really liked it.

I really couldn't be happier about the purchase. The FX was fun for a couple years but some things started to get annoying w it, namely:

1/ Had a rattle that couldn't be found;2/ V-rated tires got replaced ev year & nobody could mount them;3/ steering wheel shook on hwy.

(Just to name a few.) I have only had the M for all of 3 days but have really enjoyed my experience. I kinda feel as though I drive around in a recliner now. The ride on 18" wheels is a lot smoother commute than w 20" wheels. I love the Tech package on my M. Nav & Camera are pretty neat not to mention the iPod hook-up. Its not really an apple to apple comparison being the FX only had the Sport package. But I really don't like how the new FX looks, either.

I just hope that I don't ever get the mod bug again. It was cool to do in my 20s, but I now just look back and scratch my head.

In closing, yes I agree that the STEELERS have a few refs on their payroll. Then again, Art Rooney made all his money i nthe gaming business so what would you expect>?!

LOL. I feel the same way now, BUT I still feel like I SHOULD be doing something to my car so I think we have already ingrained it into our genetics.
