Ok, this one might sound a little crybabyish, but the green circle light around the ignition only comes on when I turn on the headlights. I always thought these just 'stay on' and I have to remember to turn the headlights on before finding the keyhole. The previous owner blessed my car with 'Limo-5' on all the glass (I'll keep it till I'm pulled over and told to remove it lol) and it's got black leather interior so at night my cabin is pitch black. Again, I know it's just a minor discomfort of the anal cavity, but is there a way to wire it so it's permanently on?

I would have thought the ring would be wired with the Convenience Courtesy Lights, and would turn on when you opened the car door. I don't think you'd want it lit all the time.

I agree, and this seems to make sense. Nothing stopping you from opening up the FSM, checking out the wiring, and performing the mod though! Post pics if you do. Edit: On second thought this is probably controlled by the Timing Control Module, so could be trickier. Should still be able to find a circuit that's on with the car and bypass it with that though.

Tried both. Unfortunately it still seems like it's slaved to the headlights/dashlights. The other two cars, a Kia (work car for MPG) and our Lincoln Town Car (groceries, dead bodies, both) keep the green ign. key light on perm (I checked them both last night taking the garbage out. Both on but nothing from the 300) They seem to be LED anyway which wouldn't dent the battery at all. I dunno, if nothing else, I'll just crack the steering column and find the wires. Should be an easy bypass to a constant-hot after that.
