I have a greddy type r bov on my 20 and i dont know if it is working or not. It worked fine when i had the stock turbo, but the car is by no means stock anymore . I upgraded to a hks low mount cast manifold, hks wastegate, and a 60-1 turbo. Since the upgrade i cant tell im my bov is working or not. When ever i rev the car up from under the hood i can feel the air coming out of it, but when i get in boost and let off the it sounds like it is suring really bad. Dont get me wrong it sounds f**king nasty as h**l, but i want to make sure it isnt surging. All you type r owners out there can you get me some sound clips. I have searched on the internet but who knows whats really going on with those cars.

i have the greddy type -r bov; and it is by far hold boost better. because it has a larger diameter piston compare to other bov and the larger output port; which making the sound not very high pitched and somewhat of a deep air release sound.

Sounds like it might need to be adjusted, isn't there a hard/soft setting? You can always make a boost leak checker & pressurize your intake to test the BOV sealing psi & dump psi.. Also are you driving the car or just revving it under the hood?

OT request.. Would you mind posting up or emailing me some pictures of your setup? I have the same manifold & wg with a t3/t04e and would like to see how you did a few things (particularly Wastegate dump, downpipe, compressor clearance against rail & inlet/hot piping, ps hoses)...

well i got a sound clip off another member that had the same setup but on a neo 25 and i dont think mine sounds like that. I took apart mine and found the diaphram was pinched so i fixed that. When i got the turbo they sent me the stiff spring instead of the softer one so i cut it down a little bit but it seems to surge on low boost but leaks at 10 psi if i loosen it up a little bit. i dont want to buy a new bov but i might have to
