My guess is Greddy only lists the application as 96-98 specific due to OBDII regulations and their possible venture to try and obtain a CARB EO number for the kit. Since there are at least some versions of the 95 that are OBDI, They may have to do a separate test for that. This is only my own speculation however. All the components that the E-Manage would tap into on all S14's use are the same(MAF, Distributor, base injectors) so I see no reason the kit would not work on a 95 as a bolt-on application. The maps should be the same or at least similar enough that the pre-programmed map from Greddy will probably work fine.

Thats exactly what I was thinkin C-Kwik, if your 95 is OBDII, I bet she'd work fine. You might give a call to Greddy just to be on the safe side though.

And it seems that mechanically the kit is fine for a 95, you just have to have the E-manage reprogrammed. Which isn't that bad but for almost 3g's you'd hope to avoid additional costs (I have a OBDI 95...joy)

Again, I see no reason the E-Manage will need to be reprogrammed for use on a 95. The maps should be similar or the same.

Well, I asked the tech guy at Greddy. Maybe the reason for this answer, has to do with the CARB legality of the system??? If it works fine with OBDI thats great! Trust me I want to believe you!

I'd say more for liability reasons. CARB may be a factor as they don't want to imply that it will simply work on a 95 S14, in case they do get it certified and you come back and try to hold against them that they said it would be CARB legal or something. They also may have not ever tested it on a 95 or they may know very littel about the 95. Most companies will tell you the safest answer. Since all the parts of the motor are essentially the same, I see no reason the maps would be different at all. If there are any, they would be very minor. The key elements are the motor, the MAF, the injectors TPS sensor, engine speed sensor and the distributor. These are the only sensors it really needs to tap into. And as far as I can tell, they are identical.

It just helps to think outside the box a bit and not take everything someone says as absolute truth. I'd hope noone even assumes that I am right about everything. As with most thing told to you, its a good idea to think about it for yourself, so that #1, you understand it, and #2, it actually makes sense or seems reasonable to consider a fact.
