I am looking for opinions on the new Greddy Turbo Kit.

http://www.i-m-racing.com/grtukit249.html

I know it is new to the market but I am considering buying it for my S14. The link above will give you a good idea of whats included. It is one of the cheaper pre-assembled kits I have seen. I haven't had the S14 long and aside from the things that are the same between the S14 and S13 I don't know a ton about them yet. I would be satisfied with high 12's out of her eventually. This set up will be connected to a full custom exhaust and a Walbro fuel pump while still running on stock internal (obviously). Some of you gurus out there let me know what you think.

Thanks, --X--

Your going to have issues boostin. As far as I know the Greddy kit has a flaw in the sense that the TD06SH-20G has an internal wastegate & combined with their downpipe causes boost creep at higher boost. IM no expert so research that on your own. My friend runs a stock Greddy kit without the FMIC (he will install the FMIC soon) and its pretty damn fast. Overall its a pretty decent kit though the manifold is a ***** to install cuz of how difficult it is to reach the bolts and much like the IAP kit it will cause you possible brake line issues if you have a SE with ABS. Also from my research the E-manage is preprogrammed for a 96 OBDII ecu and 95 S14s will require a slight change in the tune.

Thanks for your input guys. I would be interested in seeing Dyno numbers from this kit if anyone has them or even what kind of 1/4 mile times this kit is putting down. I will continue to search for that stuff, just thought if anyone had them off hand.

redka-t has one and lookin at the dyno and flaws that it has, i'm not too impressed with it.

running the stock 6-7 psi with no front mount your expecting to see 190-200whp and with the front mount option raising the boost to 9 psi your looking to see 220-230whp.

definitly better kits out there, try the importautoperformance kit. that kit looks sick, geo has it on his car and is very happy with it.

I am wanting to get one of these greddy kits also. I have also heard about the problems with the internal wastegate but I dont think it that big of a deal the cheapest place I found these kits at was sport compact only.com they are like $2400 thats pretty good for what you get! there was a article in modified mag about a year ago that had a s14 with this kit instaled in it that was making 365 hp I am wondering what are the 1/4 mile times of these kits? I would like to know if any one has info!!

There are no brake line clearence issue like your kit, and I have the biggest booster (auto with abs). The kits awesome, spools quick and pulls hard all the way to redline. The only problem that I encountered was mounting the manifold but a couple minutes with a file and it was fine.

For what you get its an awesome deal that IMO is better then IAP because you sacrifice an intercooler/bov for an awesome fuel system and piggyback ecu. But do your own research and see which one better suits your needs.

its a ok kit , i have one for about 1 year now , yes it has problems with overbosting if you change downpipe but if you leave stock downpipe it wont be a problem , another thing is get a blow of valve and rec it back to intake or you will have problems with car dying . so far the higest whp i got out of this kit is 330 whp at 16 psi runnig very rich with jwt ecu and 740cc injectors . after some fine tunning im hoping to get close to 380 whp at 18 psi , but will seeif you have this kit for a while check thouse silicone reducers they are really cheep and they like to crack and leak

Nice....300+ WHP, gives me something to look forward to. I have this kit, and I left the stock turbo pipe that goes to the stock downpipe and just gutted both cats. Car definately moves at 6PSI and no boost creep. I have a 95 and the car definately runs rich. I have had no problems with this kit. I just recently posted my 1/4 mile run with my Gtech on KA-T.org. I ran a 14.4@98mph. This car is definately a low 14sec car at 6PSI w/no intercooler. Once I get my FMIC mounted and I turn up the boost a bit with a good tune, I'll post some more numbers.

$2400 is pretty good for the kit and is only a few hundred over cost. definitly good buy for that price.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I was thinking about getting this kit. I have a question in terms of compatbility and the 1995 240sx. Mine is a base model not sure about the ABS. Anyone have a 95 that can tell me what to expect to change?THanks.

anyone have a link to the site has these for 2400?

Price has increased a bit since guys up there^^^^ were saying it could be had for $2400.00. But remember, it looks like you have to have OBDII to run all the components in this kit. Since you have a 95, your S14 will need a small change in tune like someone said above.

you need the OBDII to run the emanage. Just run a SAFC-2 and sell the emanage.

Heres a question, could i buy an ebay fmic instead of the $900 greddy one? Would the ebay fmic fit with the greddy pipes? Or would I need to make pipes?

what is the difference between OBDI and OBDII for this kit. Is it the tune? Meaning could I just get it retuned? Or is it fitment? Meaning will I need to add a harness or mess with wiring?

I think it's overpriced. 3 grand and no FMIC? Buy separate pieces, and make a kit yourself.

I was originally piecing together a kit, Im done with that. I dont have the time or patience to wait for the parts I need and then ask questions about compatibility and get flamed. Im totally done with that. I dont mind spend some money for a complete bolt on kit, I also already have an intercooler so that isnt a big deal. I just want to know whats involved with making a 95 compatible with this kit? I have heard that a 95 really doesnt need adjusting, it will just run rich. Anyone have evidence?
