Ok. I've been off the forums for quite a long time now but I've noticed some general bashing on the Greddy kit.

95240sx ka24de

greddy dump pipe to cust crushbent down pipe to high flow cat with 3" exhaust.stock fuel pump

My impressions.

The turbo kit does not cause my oil to turn black. (great turbo)

I installed the kit without the intercooler first. I would experience boost creep in the uper rpm's with sustained full throttle. ( The enigine smelled a little bit after running the car) I believe the boost creep was from the high egt. The timing was set at 15 btdc. this worked well and kept the pinging down. Ran the car like this for 3 months and about 3000 miles no problems and 2 drift events.

After installing my vertex kit I install a greddy front mount to fill the void. On the hot pipe in front of the turbo I also hooked up a hks sqqv to fix the compressor surge. With the addtion of the intercooler boost creep problems went away. I then added some timing put it up to 17 btdc this has increased the egt's which causes some small boost creep. I dont get any more than .5 bar boost with total creep

Lastest install was a profect e-01Auto mode didn't work well because I'm only trying to get like 2 psi over stock.

I dialed the profect e-01 with manual setting and it works great boost comes on very fast stops at 6.8 psi. If the temp is higher and my egts go up the the boost will some times go up to 7.5 but thats it.

My impression of the td06 is that this is a great turbo even with the stock waste gate.

My evo and wrx used stock waste gates and had the same effect that out cars have on them with internal waste gate. On both the evo and the subi I disconnect the stock boost seloniod and ran just the waste gate they booth creeped. The thing is the manufactures know this and install boost seloinoids to increes the boost. If your boost creep without the boost crontroller does not exceed the targeted boost you then theroetically program around it with a good boost controller.

My point is This kit works well and is dependable. At 6 psi I smoked a c5 corvette on the freeway. I estimate around 220 at the wheels.

For the record it pulls on a stock evo with the boost at 6.8 psi.(2nd gear through 4th)

I'm happy no complaints other that I can't tweak the e-mange without deleting the greddy program

Also greddy customer care sucks

Peace

I hope this helps other people thinking about kat

It sure does help. There is a ton of greddy bashing in this forum (for good reason though, red-kat for example) but i've been eyeing the greddy kit since it came out. It has it's plusses and minuses just like all the other kits. Since i live in a county that has emissions inspections and i have to pass a sniffer test, the greddy kit looked good because it keeps all the emmision control crap (like EGR and whatever the 3 vacume lines on the stock intake go to)so thanks for making my decision harder by throwing the greddy kit back in the mix, but its good to hear that some people arn't having any trouble with it.

Dude I have the greddy kit just w/o a BOV other then that I think the downpipe and the fact that I have a 255 Fuel pump are the only diffences that I can see and If you "smoked" Vet on the highway that guy was just driving, you were racing. I dought that you beat a c5 at highway speeds, with an Poor driver Its like low 13s in the quarter and they have ~ 110 Mph trap speeds. Anyway:

<-----the reason I don't like my kit is more that, stuff goes wrong with custom stuff, greddy can't help some of the stuff that people f-up or really isn't there fault. IMO Greddy could really work on there customer service. I got the wrong studs in my kit, no one seemed to have any answer to the problem couldn't get ahold of greddy people who knew what Pitch was on the threads - yeah then I got some guy who called me a dumbass and a Lier, I told him to ship me a new set of studs and I'd ship him the old ones and If I was lieing I would pay for shiping both ways, gave him my credit card # and got the bolts 3 days later, I had also said next day, the package had a return packing so i sent the wrong studs back to them, then I get a call from the bank about greddy charging my card $40 for shipping and handeling fees, about 15 days of calling every hour got me to numb nuts over there and finaly got my cash back, I don't think greddy even sells parts to the public like that anymore because I tried to get a replacement oil feed line, Mine was rubbing against the cross member and got a hole in it, (that coulda been bad), greddy refused my calls I got one but not from greddy directly and the place I got it from said they didn't like dealing with greddy to much eiter sooo

yeah something is not right if you can pull on a EVO and a C6 vette on the highway with only 225whp. the EVO puts out 240whp to all four wheels. when i'm making over 230whp probrably close to 245ish whp and i still can't pull on my friends stock EVO from a roll. and a C5 i wouldn't even bother. theres nothing really wrong with the greddy kit, my only grip is that it makes lower whp compared to other kits. and the quality is alittle disapointing for greddy standards.

AWD vehicles only have advantage on the launch. They lose in the long run.Unless the RWD keeps breaking them loose.

yes reguardless they put down 240ish whp and whp is whp. that is with the extra drive train loss included in. if a evo puts down 240whp on all four wheels, its easily a 250whp if it was only driving 2 wheels.

Its good that you have had no issues...

I like that kit a lot! now I want one!

But then we would almost be twins with Red S14's running Greedy kits... (Yes Greedy)

my motor was built by aebs in san diego. Roger was the engine builder. It had ross pistons 9:1 and puater rods.

As far as the kit goes it's Vertex not the copied version select

Mr Ueno Signed my car under the hood along with his machanic in approval at the last jgtc in fontana

Does anybody have a phatka-t motor? I'm thinking about mail ordering one of the motors. Droping it in uping the boost to 20 psi to see what this 20g can do.
