Hi, I got a 1995 Nissan 240sx. I heard that the Greddy Turbo kit is street legal in all 50 state and some are saying except cali or whatever. I'm from new york. I was thinking of adding the following to my car:Greddy Turbo kit, Greddy FMIC, AEM Short Ram Intake (they say their intake is 50 state legal or pending), and Apexi Cat N-1 Exhaust system. I was wondering with this setup, would it pass the New York State Emissions.

If it was to fail, is there a way to make it pass the emissions by doing somethign rather then taking apart the turbo kit and intercooler?

Also if it's legal, can I up the psi and get mroe HP and still make it pass emissions?

I've been spending the last 3 days countless hours trying to find out.Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advanced

This has been covered 1000's of times already. The greddy kit never got the 50 state emissions certification. California will definitely fail you. I think NY is the same way. You will fail just by visual even before you go on the rollers. A lot of states like az will require a mild visual and the sniffer. It is best to go to an emissions center and get some literature to read. You can also ask them if "bolt-on" modifications are allowed or not allowed.

The Greddy 240SX turbo kit is NOT CARB LEGAL. It does NOT HAVE A CARB EO #. In other words, it is not street legal in California.

For other states, you can probably get away with it.

nyc does not require a visual, and you can easily bribe alot of poeple to pass you. i have countless friends who drives catless cars and passes.

if your worried about the car not passing, i just recently passed emissions with my ka-t in CT. and CT is even more strict because the emissions station guys needs their eyes scanned and you can't bribe them.

i had to cheat by putting in a gallon of denatured alcohol, putting in a fresh cat, and getting it very hot, then turn my timing waaaay back and i passed.

in CT they test the same thing as they do in nyc, they test for HC, CO and NOX. since with the greddy kit it still retains the EGR valve you wouldn't have to worry about NOX like most of us do since most of use remove our EGR's.

my test scores were over 75% below the the limit for HC and CO but for NOX i barely passed ( but thats cause i have no EGR )

My greddy kit was pumping some insane NOX. Luckly Washington does not use the NOX rating.

But Oregon and Washington are moving to Cally emmisions by 2009. Sux Balz.

I'm sorry but I am just a little curious as how the hell you are going to use an AEM short ram intake with a Greddy turbo kit and fmic?
