I installed a new Greddy catback system on a 2000 Maxima. For some reason my check engine light stays on now. I now it’s probably the O2 sensor, but how do I get reed of it. This being the first upgrade to the car.

not knowing too much about the 5th gens, i'd say try resetting the ecu. your 02 sensor might also be bad so before resetting it, run a diagnostics....not sure if the instructions are on this site but on maxima.org under 5th gen forums faq, they should have instructions. g/l

Did the reset to the computer and it's not the o2 sensor that is bad. The check engine light keeps coming back. By any chance do you guys know the code that I can send to the computer to ignore the O2 sensor. That’s probably the only way to fix it. Don't want to void the warranty by going and having it done at a Nissan dealer ship. Can you guys help.

well like i said earlier, run a diagnostics to find out what exactly is wrong.....the ecu WILL give you a code that tells you what it is. Go to maxima.org, to the 5th gen forums and ask them what the code means once you get it. they will decode it for you. i don't think anyone will tell you how to make it go away as that will most likely void your warranty if they find out what you did.

good luck
